I think that's only fair.

You could however make him a deal.

You sit through some thing that fascinates him, then he gets the privilege of sitting through one of yours. Give and take, you know what i mean.

Oh, he's way ahead of me on that front. He watches just about every NFL game - preseason to playoffs (which means I "watch" them too - thank goodness for a router and a laptop!). Now, I have a few favorite teams - the Saints spring immediately to mind - but DANG!

Add to that all the hours I've spent at high school football games, Dallas Cowboy games at the stadium, Ranger games, and high school baseball and - I think it's only fair that he watch a few subtitled films and learn a bit more about Rasputin!

To his credit - he usually caves in on the foreign films - but he draws the line at Bollywood films and soundtracks. I have to go solo on those.

Ok. Since we're all bragging here....

I play FABULOUS keyboards, no, really...
arrange, improvise, compose, accompany (mySelf mostly these days),
and have more recently expanded the possibilities of my natural jazz singing voice
so I can now also Diva rock and pop vocals :flirt:...
on days when my sinuses aren't ruining my life. :149:

I am most naturally a jazz vocalist, so it really has been a learning curve,
took a lot of experimentation and patience over the past 3-4 years
figuring out how to "keep my voice", remain true to mySelf
and still be able to command lead vocals in any genre.
(while also developing a whole new Set list)
I'm very proud of the development I've made vocally
in this later season of my life.
Before now, I've almost always been paid professionally as a keyboard player/pianist,
with vocals always having been secondary.
Now if I could just keep my health.

Besides performing music, music theory is my specialty.
I've been a private teacher of music for over 20 years,
and have developed a completely unique method of teaching
that incorporates the chord and improv skills of rock/pop/jazz musicians
right up front, while also covering traditional reading and technique skills.
There is nothing out there like it,
but
I still have no copyright... so.....

Also I've almost completed my own drawn renditions
of almost the entire Major Arcana of the Tarot.
I love esoteric symbolisms, and I'm finding this a MOST enriching project.
It's really wonderful to have an outlet for my drawing skills again.
My style of drawing really lends itself to this type of project.
Before this I hadn't really drawn in... almost, 20? years.
I did draw quite a bit though as a teen particularly.
I also have a musical vision to go along with the Major Arcana,
so there will be music composed around the cards to come.
I figure it will be a couple more years
until the deck is totally completed.
I really do believe it is good enough to print and sell.

Anyhow, now that the damned winter is over
and I have my full voice back,
I'll be recording again soon.
I'll put up new updated cover tune demos
that reflect my newer and better developed
solo cover tune projects.
My original works are mostly uncompleted
and not at all copyrighted... so....

Oh yes, I got my BFA in Jazz and Contemporary music
with a piano emphasis. Guitar is my secondary instrument.

While I have succeeded in the Becoming of my musicianship,
unfortunately, I have never been successful in life, business,
legal, and Self promotional skills.
This is the very next thing I am working to change/develop.
I may be 43, but it's not too late.
If I don't succeed, I'll die trying.

So that there is the best, and the worst of me.

Oh! I'm also a really great mom.
I'm extremely liberal,
and prefer to be friend first.
Anyone who says that doesn't work....
does not know my children.
