When did satan know who jesus was?

Ummm.... I don't think people with little knowledge of Jewish prophecy would trouble themselves with a pilgrimage of this magnitude. These people were focused and effective in finding a needle in a haystack, which describes a people with an above average aptitude regarding Jewish prophecy. I would appreciate if you would give me the reference to your fact regarding the Magi's knowledge of Jewish prophecy.

There is no text in the bible that says that the men from the east were skilled in jewish prophecy. Not that I know of anyway. I dont think they were. But whether they were familiar with jewish prophecy or not, it doesnt seem like satan knew more than they did regarding the whereabouts of jesus. At one point the wise men wanted to return to herod to tell him more about the child, but an angel stopped them. If they did tell herod, he WOULD have had the right boy killed. It seems like god was protecting the identity of jesus.

The Bible doesn't explain how he knew, but he sure tempted Jesus in the desert, just as he tempts many christians today, with money, power and lots of lies. Why is it so important to know the "exact" moment (date, year etc) when Satan knew who was Jesus amongst the Galileans?

Satan is as immorial & timeless as God. Both appeared to huamns as concept at the same time.
Jesus was one of us and so it was not Satan who should know about Jesus but the other way round, i,e, *When Did Jesus know that besides his father there is his uncle around his family quarters.*

Beneck I don't think it is the fact that the question is of that much importance to Heneni, but she would like to have a discussion and get the thoughts of others on this.....I thought it was a good thread and food for thought. I know Heneni is a person who thinks for herself and can defend her own values, but why the issue for her reason for this question?
Heneni I still think that Satan knew from birth who Jesus was. Remember Satan is wise to a certain point. He knows his job and does it well......

LOL...but charity, if satan knew who jesus was since he was a baby, he could have had jesus killed and not all the other babies as well.

I can only go on the premise that when evil is present you feel it. I'm sure it works the same with something good, I would think it was something that could be sensed, If others could see and discern that something phenomenal had just happened, I think Satan could have known also...

Well, if this is for the sake of discussing: Satan probably did know that Jesus was born in the flesh. Contrary to God though, Satan is not omnipotent, so he didn't know where or what. That;s why he "inspired" Herod to kill all the children under 2 years, so they most likely would get the "right" on too. There's a good movie that touches on this subject, called "The fourth wiseman" with Martin Sheen. Anyways, even if he did know where Jesus was, he probably still would have Herod inspired to kill all the children under 2 years of age, as Satan hates all mankind, and would love to have us all dead.
