When does Scripture point too as being the "day of the Lord"?

Our Lord has hidden two things from us:

1. How many are to be saved in the end.

2. When the apocalypse will take place.

We simply cannot possibly know.

Also, 'Israel' can never be taken to refer to the state of Israel; 'Israel' refers to Christendom -- it does not the Jewish state, nor the Jewish people.

Dear s,
Than apparently, when the stick of Ephraim/Israel, and the stick of Judah, are put together (Ez 37:19), and "My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes, and observe them. And they shall live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant" (Ex 37:25), that you will be keeping those statutes along with them?

As for who is to be "saved in the end", that would be those who "endure to the end" (Mt 24:13). As to the number of "My people" that would be "the third part" (Zechariah 13:9)

As for when the "apocalypse will take place", that would be referred to as "Har-Magedon" (Rev 16:16), and that happens when the "kings of the whole world" are gathered for the "war of the great day of God" (Re 16:14), which lines up with when "I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem" (Zech 14:2).

'Israel' refers to God's nation; it refers to Christendom. The Jews are no longer Israel.

Dear S,
The Jews have not been "Israel" since the time of king David. The title "Israel", was passed down through Joseph, to Ephraim. The Jews, who are Judah, are simply a part of Israel/Jacob. Israel/Ephraim, is "scattered among the nations" (Joel 3:2). Your "Christiandom" would simply be represented by the "adulteress", who was purchased by Hosea in Hosea 3, for the equivalence of 30 shekels of silver, until "the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king" (Hosea 3:5).

I think a better indication is when Israel starts rebuilding the temple. That is the only only way we can identify the abomination of desolation mentioned in Dan 9:27 & MT 24:15

Dear o2,
The "abomination of desolation" happened at least 3 previous times. Antiochus, Pompey, and Titus, all sacrificed swine to their war banners at the site of the "holy place". That is to say the heads of the beast made the sacrifice after they had conquered Jerusalem. Today, the "holy place" is supposedly occupied by the Muslim dome of the rock, and their new banner, is that they now have the bow of nuclear weapons, in place of the banner of the Roman legions. I suggest that you start running, and leave your coat behind. (Mt 24:16). Paul's "twinkling" dust will not be there for you.

None of us know the date of when it will occur but the signs show it's just about here. When the earth below your feet begins to shake violently, everything on earth will be destroyed in one hour.

Revelation 18
17: In one hour all this wealth has been laid waste." And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off
18: and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, "What city was like the great city?"
19: And they threw dust on their heads, as they wept and mourned, crying out, "Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! In one hour she has been laid waste.
20: Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!"
21: Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So shall Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and shall be found no more;
22: and the sound of harpers and minstrels, of flute players and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more; and a craftsman of any craft shall be found in thee no more; and the sound of the millstone shall be heard in thee no more;
23: and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in thee no more; for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by thy sorcery.
24: And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth."

Dear gv,
Babylon the Great, refers to the pagan church of Babylon. The only thing that remains of Babylon the Great are her harlot daughters. While Judah was one of those "harlots", the majority of the "harlots", are represented by the Roman church and her daughters, who worship idols, such as Bel, and was instituted by the 7th head of the beast, Constantine, at the Council of Nicaea, an event he convened. Keep in mind that Constantine, was the beast with two horns like a lamb (Rev 13:11), who was to deceive all those "who dwell on the earth" (Rev 13:14).

Only God chooses the one's he wants to go preach the good news once he has taken them through the justification process which took him many years to do in my case before he made me a Gospel preacher.

Romans 10
8: But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach);
15: And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!"
16: But they have not all obeyed the gospel; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?"
17: So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ.
18: But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have; for "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."

Romans 9:
28: We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.
29: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren.
30: And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Those of us who are justified and glorified are the true Gospel preachers, not the false teachers that stand up in a church building ( false god ) built with human hands and uses their own interpretations of what they read in the Bible. They usually go to a man's school ( false god ) built with human hands ( mark of the beast ) to learn how to sound godly.

Dear gv,
Apparently, by your quotes, you are "justified" by the gospel of the false prophet Paul. Good luck with that when the "huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men" (Rev 16:21). Yeshua, on the other hand, preached the kingdom of heaven, which is at opposite ends of the spectrum from the false gospel of grace. According to Yeshua, there is only one teacher. (Mt 23:8).

Since this thread seems to have morphed into a contest to see who can come up with the most creative ways to break rules 3 and 8, I'm shutting it down.
