When was the last time you cried because you were so happy?

I can't remember the last time I had tears of joy. It was over a year ago and was when I realized that some murder victims were in my life (like Angels from heaven). I'm still 100% convinced they are in my life and dreams...I keep pictures of them and keep candles burning before their images and often write down quotes I feel are coming from them. But no more tears of joy.

Are tears of joy a phenomenon you can recall experiencing? What were the circumstances? Was it recent? If so, I envy you :)

I'm in my 50's and I can't recall such an episode ! I remember feeling elated after completing the Potteries Marathon(26.2 miles) in 1987 in my best ever time - 3hrs 23mins. And another episode of elation was when Liverpool FC won the European Cup for the fifth time in 2005.

Alas, no tears of joy.................................

I think last time was at Disney last year. Was a childhood dream come true to go there, always wanted to go but was too poor.

Before that was a few years back my husband bought me an adoption pack for snow leopards. I was really touched because I love cats (if this wasn't obvious) and like that a birthday gift is serving to protect them.

I cried at the scene in The Martian when Matt Damon's character was finally rescued.

Really, I did.

If I didn't cry, in general, within two weeks, month at most, someone would think something was wrong with me. The type of seizures I have messes with my emotional side of my brain among other external events. This includes tears of happiness for no apparent reason. Maybe happy to be alive, sometimes.

Last time I remember was three years ago after my grandmother's passing, I went to see my mother's side at Thanksgiving that same year (a month after her passing). Americans are considered having "no culture" and we are always termed as "westerners that don't know X, Y, or Z" and it is a huge pet peeve because even though I grown up with no culture, that doesn't mean I have no culture.

Visiting my mother's side of the family let me see that as a whole. We ate, we talked, we prayed, and in between went to our family cementary. I looked up my family and went back to my great-greats. I don't have their pictures like my father's side, but still it makes me feel I'm at home even though they are two states away from me.

Sometimes you have a inner cry. It doesn't have to be a big event. It could be just a smile.

I wouldn't think you dont have it. Maybe you express it differently. Everyone is unique in how they express happiness. I rarely cry out of happiness; so, that was a surprise for me. Me, happy you got to be kiddin'

Takes time.

Carlita, you make me slightly wish I was epileptic. Sorry, but it sounds like it makes life more interesting and on occasion enjoyable :)

I appreciate the gesture, but no, ya don't. At least what I have is a life and death epilepsy. If I didn't take my meds, I would go into a status epileptis (seizure that lasts over 10 mins back to back) and it can cause coma and in rare cases death. The seizures hurt and you can't quite smile during them.

But the side affects like crying for no reason, screaming, and hand jerking with brief "time-out" moments aren't that serious. You can take those off my back, though. :)
