That's what you think. But when our politicians look towards your higher education and go "hey, that's a good idea" it affects us too. We were fighting the idea that our student loans should look like Americans, which is not good for us in the long run. Given the strength (or weakness) of our dollar and the current wages/cost of living. We probably will continue to fight it in the future. Your higher education might be damned impressive, but the cost of it is ridiculous even on our wages.
Americans will be affected more than us, obviously.
But you constantly affect us all every day. Probably more than you realize. Even on little things, everyone wants to be like you, you're more often than not a role model. For better or worse.
Of course we all watch your politics like it's some sort of morbid train crash all the same. Make of that what you will.
"But when our politicians look towards your higher education and go "hey, that's a good idea" it affects us too."
Then that is the fault of your politicians, not America. Even our politicians don't think the student loan problem in the US is in a good place. That is the one major failing areas that our government needs to fix. Sanders or Clinton probably would have done something to try to fix it. Trump said he was gonna do something about the massive student loan debt but I think he just said it to counter what Clinton was saying.
When it comes to education the Democrats prob. would have been the better pick.
"Your higher education might be damned impressive, but the cost of it is ridiculous even on our wages."
The there are a few problems with the way we handle the cost of our schools.
One the US government actually makes money off student loans, which it shouldn't be doing that. Money should be redirected back to the students as a grant or something of the sort. Something else should be done and the government should not be capitalizing on students.
Schools have way too much overhead, and excess money is not typically directed to cut cost for students but to build new buildings, hire more staff or increase wages.
Compared to things like welfare and defense, education is severely underfunded. More state and government funded scholarships would help out a lot.
