Back when the only religions were Animistic...

According to Christianity, people went straight to hell.
There were numerous religions in existence before Christianity. Judais was prominent in the area that Christianity was founded but the world was full of different religions, many of which still exist today.

It depends in your views. Some Christians believe they are sleeping until they are awakened for the Day of Judgement.

Nonono, back when the only religions were Animistic...Doesn't anyone listen!?

someone said 'there were no christians'

Christianity was established in the first century... before that they did not exist as a religion....they were, as someone already said, pagans or jews.

As has already been pointed out, before Jesus came on the scene there were no Christians, therefore your question, "Where did Christians go before Christ was born," is llike asking what kind of cars did people drive around in before the automobile was invented? Understand?

Without Jesus, the term "Christian" wouldn't even exist. It was used by the Romans in a negative way in the early centuries to denote the followers of Jesus. Before Jesus was born (and frankly, up until he started his ministry), people would have been either Jews or pagans in that era and area. There is no other way to answer this question - "Christian" didn't exist before Jesus was born.

***MOD ADVISORY***

Please keep in mind that this is a Christiainity DIR and not a debate forum.

The only people who should be addressing this question are those who consider themselves to be Christian. If you're not a Christian, please limit your posts here to polite questions.

Thanks

Everyone went to hell\Hades\Paradise\the underworld\........ Everyone still does until judgment.

I know that is a contentious issue but Christ did say "Tonight you will dine (OOPS:( GOT THAT A LITTLE OFF) with Me in paradise" He did not say in heaven.

I don't know what Bible says anything about dining. Luke 23 verse 43 says "Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today thou shalt be with me in paradise." In the Hebrew language there are no commas so the translators had to add these. Maybe this comma was added in the wrong place. Maybe it should say "Verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise." Then they could be together at some future time such as at the second coming of Jesus. Beside Jesus did not go to paradise the same day He died because He was in the tomb for three days and three nights.

Luke is written in Greek.
