Regardless of the language, whoever wrote this down did so years after the event and so the comma could have been put in the wrong place.

I don't know what Bible says anything about dining. Luke 23 verse 43 says "Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today thou shalt be with me in paradise." In the Hebrew language there are no commas so the translators had to add these. Maybe this comma was added in the wrong place. Maybe it should say "Verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise." Then they could be together at some future time such as at the second coming of Jesus. Beside Jesus did not go to paradise the same day He died because He was in the tomb for three days and three nights.

You are absolutely right about the dine part. My brain was on food. Freudian slip I guess. I will say I am glad you did correct that because it teaches me that no matter what I know the word is there for a reason and part of that is to be used a reference.

Thank You.

When there was no Christ (Messiah) there were no Christians. And who knows about when we were animistic? Who knows before Abraham?- Judaism came out of his belief in God (Abraham wasn't a Jew himself, as you can well imagine). There are some questions that no one (outside of God)can answer.

Before Christ, the Jews (according entirely to christian dogma, there's nothing about his in Jewish texts) went to Limbo. Everyone did. Or, in some translations, Hell. Then, once Christ died he went to Limbo (or Hell) and offered everyone a chance to get into Heaven, no matter what faith, because before then they hadn't had a chance to accept Jesus, and so it wasn't fair to leave them in Limbo (or Hell). He then took those that wanted to go, up to Heaven before coming back on the third day.

Again, all traditional Christian dogma. I have no idea the scriptural basis for this, it's just the story I learned in church as a child.

i dont think youll find that story in the bible ... the hebrews held to the hope of the resurrection in Gods earthly paradise...that is an physical resurrection not a resurrection to heaven in the form of spirit.

As has already been pointed out, before Jesus came on the scene there were no Christians, therefore your question, "Where did Christians go before Christ was born," is llike asking what kind of cars did people drive around in before the automobile was invented? Understand?

This has to be the best answer so far.

I highly doubt it is. But then, most Christian dogma is apocryphal.

I know, that's the point.
Christians are Christians for reasons and I want to learn those reasons.
It wasn't an illogical question.
It was directed toward Christians and I had hoped to recieve more answers from them.

Back when the only religions were Animistic...

There were no Christians before Jesus was born. Christians started being called Christians for the very first time only about 30 years after Jesus had been gone, as a result of a whole year that Paul spent in Antioch preaching about Jesus as Christ.
(Acts 11:26)

Abraham was the first Jew from the moment God established the Abrahamic Covenant with him to be an everlasting Covenant in his seed Isaac. (Gen. 17:7-14,21)

P.S. Way to reinforce what I said and make it seem like you're disagreeing with me.
