Where did Jesus go?

How do you decide what Jesus probably said, and did not say?

I don't.

I feel, what we have is a collection of pieces Galilean theology thrown in. This would reflect JtB and other teachers sayings. Some may have gone back to the Yeshua character, but we will never know.

Do you believe that Jesus spoke to some women at the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea?

No

John 11:43 says:

"And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth."

Do you believe that Jesus said that?

No

Do you believe that Jesus predicted that he would rise from the dead?

:biglaugh:

I thought you knew me better then that.

Do you believe that Jesus spoke to people after he supposedly rose from the dead?

Resurrection mythology did not start right away in my opinion.

I think it evolved from a spiritual one, to a later physical one.

Nothing is supported

It is supported by all of modern scholarships. What I stated is pretty close to fact. Crucifixion and baptism I forgot to add, are considered facts.

You will just have to deal with the current state of our knowledge.

If you knew what the consensus was in all this, you would find out I hold a very minimal view. More minimal then typical mainstream unbiased scholarships.

argument from authority (argumentum ad verecundiam): using the words of an "expert" or authority as the bases of the argument instead of using the logic or evidence that supports an argument. (e.g., Professor so-and-so believes Jesus was historical) Simply because an authority makes a claim does not necessarily mean he got it right. If an arguer presents the testimony from scholarship, look to see if it accompanies reason and sources of evidence behind it.

I call this condition 'Academic Tyranny' or 'Academic Bigotry'.

But I did not know it's academic title.

Wow thats rich. Couldnt agree more but cant help sensing a bit of irony there.
I don't claim to have any knowledge when it comes to an historical Jesus. I don't see any way of discerning facts from reading religious texts, so the irony is lost on me, maybe you can explain it.

Christainity has its own share of wishful thinking which I refer to as faith however there are things we can rely on, there is no reason to pretend we know nothing of history as if history is wishful thinking. Yes a great deal is based on faith but also probability. Our current state of knowledge is more than we have had in over 2 millenium especially since uncovering so much more documentation that just confirms story after story.

I did not state that history was wishful thinking. So called knowledge that is not accompanied with reason and sources ends up being wishful thinking.

Well, Jesus never went anywhere, its us who have gone a stray, if we just stay still and realize our true inner being, there we will find Jesus, or more précised. we will find our true self the Christ. Lest stop putting a man like Jesus up on a pedestal, and realize our own true divinity.

Where did Jesus go?

Jesus went towards India in search of 10 lost tribes of Israel to complete his ministry.

Jesus either died on the cross and that was it...

Or he wandered over to Japan and died there (or maybe even India)...

Either way, he has been doing nothing for thousands of years BUT...

Rotting? Turning into the ground? Taking up space? Who knows.

So this is how you got all your frubals, from ignorance. Please don’t get offended by it. Ignorance is just lack of knowledge.
