Where did your ancestors come from?

I know no one is pureblood, but I'm pretty dang close. All sides seem to come from Germany and that surronding area.
I mean some family names are Wentz, Lorenghel, Krueger, Kobel.
If those aren't German, I don't know what are.

Mostly English, with a little Scottish and Welsh with only one family from Ireland. Some English were born out of country - Holland and India. Quite a few were born in Canada. Immigration was as early as 1620 and up to my grandfather in the late 1800's. One documented line goes back to the 11th century, several from the 15th century http://jenkinsfamilylines.com/

I can work up a quarter Welsh from my father. His father was an immigrant from Cardiff. His mother was half Blackfoot Native American and the daughter of a Scots-Canadian man, that makes me an eighth Blackfoot. My mother's father was of British extraction (Kent and Suffolk) with some of Edward Longhsank's transplanted Scots nobility tossed in the mix, but his family was in the territory of New York by about 1750. His wife and my mother's mother was born in the US, but barely, her family came from Ulster trying to get away from "the Troubles".

So, I have a strong Celtic contribution to my make up - Welsh, Scots and Irish. I saw one of the PBS travel shows with a tour of Wales included and they filmed the pub rehearsal of a Welsh men's choir and I was amazed that if my father and I had been at one of the tables we would have fit right in, except my father is a little redder than most of the men represented.

All that Welsh blood and I;m not a "Jones".

Regards,
Scott

German and French for certain, my mom did some genealogy on that, plus some relative in our family only spoke German. Not that I can remember who he was, lol. And we think there's some Celtic blood in us somewhere.

I'm Scottish, English and German mostly, but we do have it documented that there was at least one Native American in my ancestory.

I am a mutt. It's that simple. On my Mother's side, we have German, and English ancestors. On my Father's, just about everything. We have traced back ancestors in almost every country in Europe, along with some Russians and Northern Africans.

From my moms side, I got mainly Irish, Scotish, German. My dads side, it does seem, a clan of mountain folk just appeared in Tennessee one day. One of them got with a Charokee woman, moved to Ohio, and then back to Tennessee, then back to Ohio, then to Indiana. Some of the family went back to Tennesee, some to Ohio, and some have invaded Kentucky to confuse future generations.

My ancestors are from France, England and some from Germany (who later went to Prussia to flee Hitlers rein) on my fathers side and an English heritage that goes way back on my mothers side.

Alright, on my side of the family it's mainly German, Czech and Slovak, but there are also some English, a Scott, some French, a Bretton (whatever you do, don't call him French!), and a Turk. My wife's side of the family are mainly Romanian but with some Russian and Ukrainian thrown in for good measure, so my son's even more of a mongrel than I am. Good for the gene pool, though.

If you would just look at my recent heritage, you would say that I am 3/4 Italian, and 1/4 Slovakian. However, while my sister was doing breast cancer research at UCLA her boss mapped her Mitochondrial DNA. And surprisingly it showed that we are from Northern Europe, and not Italy. But since Italy and Sicily are such melting pots, modern day italians could be from anywhere.

Mostly German and Austrian - and possibly American Indian - can't completely confirm that for my granfather was adopted and different people in the family claim different things. If not American Indian in blood, I am in spirit and heart!

I am mostly German, but also Dutch, Scottish, Irish, and English. I love to hear stories about my ancestors and we keep telling those stories so our children will remember and pass them on. :)

The earliest memory I have of my mom relating family history to me is her telling me about the Picts, and about them getting drunk and painting themselves blue before battle.

I think my ancestors were the Nac Mac Feegle.

Ain' we all through Adam and Eve, who kept it in the family. But disregarding that fairy story... Actually, my ancestors were ape-men.
