Which church has the best snacks?

Is it just me or are Sikh snacks the best?

There is nothing to rival the free offerings of a langar!

na ,you are not alone , Langar rules !!! no rival .

Magog ,when you visited Langar and where ?:eat:

for those who don't know what langar is ...
Every gurdwara( Sikh temple) has a langar where all people are welcome to a free meal regardless of their sex, colour or religion. There are no rituals observed in the langar and everyone eats together. All the food is vegetarian so that no religious group is offended.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji established the langar because he rejected the caste system where people of different castes do not eat together. Guru Nanak Dev Ji wanted to stress the idea that everyone is equal. Everyone shares the tasks of preparation, cooking, serving and cleaning. This shows sewa - selfless service to the others in the sadhsangat (community), the gurdwara, and the world outside

Just eat your dry one and drink a cool water " :D

Rather undermining my own assertion, I stayed at a Buddhist temple that had lemon meringue pie for dessert. Of course, the pleasure was transient.

I hope you didn't drop any crumbs, because I hear their vacuum cleaner is hard to use - it has no attachments.

The Sikh student group at my university would have a langar in the student centre on a regular basis. At the time, I didn't know what a langar was all about (I assumed it was an event just for the members), so I never went in, but it did smell really good.

so you never tasted langar ? :p

That beats bread and water that comes with communion. If all one wishes is to satisfy the belly and not the soul, the Sikhs are renown.

That's why you go into the main hall, too; to feed your soul ;)

true ,Gurus "shabad" is also langar

Langar cẖalai gur sabaḏ har ṯot na āvī kẖatī▫ai
The Langar - the Kitchen of the Guru's Shabad has been opened, and its supplies never run short

but SEWA feeds my soul also ..:)

Joh 6:33 For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Joh 6:34 They said therefore unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
Joh 6:35 Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

As with communion it is not the bread alone that provides nourishment but the way in which it is approached and presented.

Oh, are we just quoting parts of scriptures we like now?

My mind is in ecstasy; I have met my Beloved Lord. My beloved friends, the Saints, are delighted.
ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥ Those who are united with the Primal Lord shall never be separated again. The Creator has united them with Himself.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ The Shabad permeates my inner being, and I have found the Guru; all my sorrows are dispelled.
ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਖਾਂ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ I praise forever the Lord, the Giver of peace; I keep Him enshrined deep within my heart.

You can't beat the Orthodox with all our Middle Eastern, Balkan and Slavic goodness!

To start off, take one bite of some authentic Greek baklava, and you will never be the same.
250px-Baklava_-_Turkish_special%2C_80-ply.JPEG

And then how about some Slavic kolachki with raspberry or apricot filling?
th

But maybe you'd rather have Poppyseed Kolachki, in a nut roll form?
th

And howzabout some walnut kolachki?
th

And don't forget the kielbasa!
th

And then there's pierogies/pirohi/pirozhki... Many different names, but the same kind of deliciousness!

th

^Pirohi with sauteed onions on top. I like to fry mine with two parts olive oil, and one part garlic oil. Fill them with potatoes and cheese, or maybe stick in a meat filling or a cabbage filling, and let the good times roll!

Lastly for now, there's everyone's favorite at Pascha: Paska! Moist, rich bread made with milk, butter, sugar and eggs, and just a pinch of salt. Every other bread you've ever eaten will just never be as good once you've had a slice of this stuff, lemme tell you. This is definitely my favorite thing to bake. Kolachki are a close second though...

Some people I know slather their paska with icing and sprinkles. I haven't tried that yet, though it does look good...
th

That's all for the first round...

I enjoy the Kolachki with apricot filling and nut rolls are scrumptious but the poppy rolls seem a bit dry to me even though I like the flavor

Mine was food related to Spirit. I don't find that in your quote although I don't know the meaning of Shabad, so teach me something new.
