Based on your experiences and observations in life and on various forums, which religious groups seem to have the most happiest, satisfied, and/or peaceful members? Which seem to have the most unhappy or miserable? Any obvious reasons for the differences?

I believe you can find happy religious people in every religion just as you can find non happy people in all religions :)
For me, Sufism is what made me find inner happiness and what made me love life again.
Even when I was a Buddhist I was not as happy in general as I have become now.

I think if there was one religious group that made people measurably happier than the rest, pretty much everyone would identify with and be a member of that group.

'Happy' is so subjective. Most people go through moods and longer cycles, happiness has a wide range, and diversity to it, and there's really no way we can measure it. If you interview someone just after a loved one has passed, or they lost their job, or got divorced, it might go down on the scale.

There is also ego. Happiness might be something to be proud of, so it gets distorted by pride.

It seems the actual answer via a Pew survey would be Protestants, Roman Catholics and Buddhists. The fact that these religions are dominant in liberal democracies at peace compared to the often war torn and dictatorial regimes of the Middles East certainly helps. Religion isn't an important factor in happiness, but it does help.

I don't think people practice religion to be happy. So I don't think there's a correlation to be made, there.

I don't think any such religion exists.

I suppose the happiest religious people exist because it's what works best for them and that spans many types of religions that are out there.

The unhappy bunch are those that pursue their expectations and find themselves disappointed.

I would think it would be the ones that think people are basically good instead of sinful. Also, those that are not fear based seem like they would cause happier people. The happiest countries are non-religious and it tends to be the community support that makes people happy, no matter what type of group they are involved in.

Are Happiness and Life Satisfaction Different Across Religious Groups? Exploring Determinants of Happiness and Life Satisfaction

Results
This study explored the variability in happiness and life satisfaction across main religious groups: Buddhist, Hindu, Jew, Muslim, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Other religions and Nonreligious. The average happiness (on a scale of 1 to 4) was slightly higher amongst Protestants (M = 3.21, SD = 0.72), followed by Buddhist (M = 3.17, SD = 0.63), Other religions (M = 3.17, SD = 0.72), Roman Catholic (M = 3.13, SD = 0.72), Jew (M = 3.06, SD = 0.73), Hindu (M = 3.05, SD = 0.78), Muslim (M = 3.03, SD = 0.76), Nonreligious (M = 3.02, SD = 0.71) and finally, Orthodox (M = 2.72, SD = 0.76) with the lowest happiness. There was a significant effect of religion on happiness at the p < .05 level for the different religious groups [F (8, 316630) = 1299.72, p = 0.001].

Although scientific research indicates that being a member of a religious congregation does bring greater happiness, I don't believe any studies have been done comparing different religions.

..which religious groups seem to have the most happiest, satisfied, and/or peaceful members?..

Well Jesus said- "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son...he told his servants- go out and invite to the banquet anyone you find" (Matt 22:2)

Many people say "Nah not interested", but Christians say "Yeehaw, I'm in"..:)
