Which Religion is For Me?

Basically I'm for sale, im 19 years old and you could say i have just come of age, i have self awareness and spirituality but am very conscious of the progression of religion on mankind (or progression of mankind on religion?), this is largely thanks to Dawking, but as many other scientists have subtlety put it over the many years. I have no doubt that a combined consciousness is in fact omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient (last is questionable but we together would at least have a very, very large finite library of knowledge) however this being said i am still very open minded of the existence of something far beyond our capabilities, so basically this is what is needed to buy me, if you can somehow explain in some greater terms what exactly your god is (relative to its respected religion) and how it sheds some light into what my consciousness and imagination actually is and why i even have these 2 properties, if your god lives up to my expectation of being able to explain better than i myself can (which obviously any omniscient being would have the ability to do (otherwise aren't we just philosophically idealising religion as a form of politics?)), then the chances are, i would have been converted, thanks guys (and gals)

P.S Buddhism already has the lead due to my personal philosophical overstanding of opposites and perception however ive heard nothing in particular of their views on consciousness and imagination (which is imperative to my current spirituality)

Try the Belief-O-Matic quiz. Google that, and see what best matches your answers. The highest percentage may not always be what best suits you though. I get 100% on Mahayana Buddhism everytime.

I mean, tell me some of the things YOU think are important for a religion to have. Beliefs, practices, etc.

i want a religion to explain consciousness and imagination, ill elaborate on them a little, firstly consciousness being the state of thought and self awareness, the ability to stand outside of your own body (or to comprehend yourself doing this atleast) also on consciousness i am aware alot of religions believe the divine path, that everything in our life is set out for us, any sort of explanation that can link a divine path to a consciousness rather than free will would be a good start, secondly imagination, possibly our greatest feat as homosapians, the ability to create something that doesn't exists somewhere it cant ever be seen, anything that your specific religion has to say about the imagination, why your god gave it us and what it actually is (physically or spiritually) also anything that might link creationists to imagination over imagination to evolution

as far as morals, ethics and beliefs go, to me, there all the same, i mean x religion believes there god exists and religion y thinks that their god exists, point is they both think there god exists, most of them agree on love, peace and unity(or inity) and there isn't many that believe all infidel should die so morals, ethics and beliefs aside, consciousness and imagination have the spotlight

i am atheist ha, that's why im for sale, cuz i have no belief in any particular God, however i cant escape my consciousness and it needs sorting out before i turn crazy loool or am i just electricity and chemicals as expressed by scientists because it just doesn't explain it does it and even though im an athiest of all current religions i do solidly believe in the possibility if not probability of something with capabilities far above our own, aliens, god, love, what ever it is, its above me...and i want some answers

Just look at all of them and then eliminate each one at a time as you research them. So, my best suggestion is to not "choose" a religion yet but to look at all of them and consider the many factors that play in.

Well you could be a Buddhist and still be an atheist, or a Taoist. I think Taoism makes theism a non-issue as well.

ok let me re-phrase or something, DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A RELIGION THAT HAS SOME SORT OF EXPLANATION ABOUT OUR CONSCIOUSNESS OR IMAGINATION, SOMETHING A LITTLE BETTER THAN A DIVINE PATH OR CREATIONISM, I KNOW MY CONSCIOUSNESS AND IMAGINATION EXISTS BECAUSE I EXISTS AS BOTH OF THEM, YET MOST RELIGIONS DISMISS THESE TWO CRUCIAL FACTS? sorry for the caps but i have no idea what religion i belong to as my religious knowledge is limited to dawkings, sciences and history's contradictions and all i know of myself is that im self aware, conscious and have an overly vivid imagination which seems to be able to create things that don't exist (no im not schizophrenic i just mean the ability to vividly see myself driving a farari spider even though im actually sitting at my computer screen with my eyes closed)

...and consider the option that none of the already invented religions are correct. i accepted this fact along time ago and im fairly sure which ever religion i end up joining i wont actually believe, however i feel i need something to explain the above points more thoroughly than i can myself because im slowly turning crazy and need some sort of structure over and above science and mathematical laws
