Study it generally first. Then select from there. Just like sorting out a giant pile of fruit until you find the tastiest mango.

Good advice friend. So I understand the pantheon and god is all thing. Though I should/could still study. The pantheon its self. And I have a grasp an opinion on reincarnation.. so where should I start/go next?

The basic books like "Hinduism for Dummies", or better yet, "What is Hinduism?" The English books explaining it will take you further than jumping right into scripture, in my opinion anyway. Also, get thine body off to a temple somewhere, since Hinduism is more experiential than scriptural. Watching actions speaks louder than reading books.

The Shakta (mother goddess) sect might attract you. It still views God as male and female, but has a special regard for the Goddess, believing that she is the one who listens and helps. If you do happen to find that curious, our resident Shakta is DeviChaaya. She knows a lot about it and what is good to read.

Hmm is she equated or similar to mother earth? But I guess aren't most motherly goddess?

Personally, if I converted to Hinduism, I would probably be a Shivaite (viewing Shiva as the supreme being) or Smartha (non-sectarian and more philosophy based rather than ritual). It all depends are what you are looking for.

I've heard about this sect. In India, aren't they viewed in a more negative light? Especially if they worship Kali? That they are more superstitious?

Upon further reflection .... I actually don't think Hinduism is for you. I looked at some of your posts and came to this conclusion. Hinduism really isn't for everyone.

Too much to mention, but you have to remember I'm pretty much a traditionalist. There are many others here who would vary. I really think you'd be better off reading some of the stuff I (we) suggested instead of listening to some old fool like me, before coming to any conclusions.

Here were a couple spots though .. Vegetarianism and some quote about a cow being better dead than alive, black magic

There is no offense intended, I just think not everything is for everybody, nd sometimes it might be beneficial to cut to the chase. We Hindus, unlike other faiths, rarely proseltyse, after all. Maybe that was the hidden point I was trying to make. And of course you can do whatever you wish.

There are a lot of lack understanding by some when it comes to Tantra and Shakta worship. There is a perception of some that it is all black magic, sex, meat and drugs. I have been walking this path now for years. Here are some facts:

-Woman have been not only allowed to practice in an equal way. They have also been Guru's in this path since time began.
-Caste discrimination has been soundly rejected by some sects. Even the worship in the most important Mother Temple in India has low caste priests. It has always has been this way.
-Some of the cultures who practice this religion are matriarchal and not patriarchal.
-Some of its scriptures were written by woman.
-Many who follow this path are Vegetarian.
-In the states of Bengal,Assam and Orissa it is probably the most popular sect of Hinduism. I just got back from the villages of West Bengal for every car that I saw Krishna advertised on the car I saw 100 with the names of Kali or Tara on it.
-Some of the most Important Hindu Saints India produced have been Shaktas.

Most Hindu Mother Temples are attended by families. Just like most other Hindu Temples. This is not to say that Tantra does not have it down sides it does. Just like every group.
