Who are the wisest members?

He who knows not and knows he knows not...

I believe I don't know, that is singularly true - and anyone can easily prove it. Therefore I am nominating myself - and anyone else who knows they really don't have a clue what they're talking about.

Dan from Smithville already did that sidestep.
If you will take note, that was the bunny hop.

I have met several people on here that I consider to be knowledgeable and able to reason well from my perspective. But how do you know that I am qualified to make those determinations? I could very well be a poor judge of the characteristics widely seen as evoking that description. Would this then be a test of the ability to choose a candidate and not one of the ability of a selected candidate to exercise wisdom?

But who decides the candidate to choose the selected candidate to decide the person to debate with?

I'm not talking about 'Notable members'. This only means that they've posted a lot over a long period. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're knowledgeable, let alone wise.

I want to know who can perfectly reason that their belief is singularly true. Please contact me if you're serious.

Their belief in what?
Because if that's undefined, I'll submit myself. If there is a particular belief paradigm you're talking about, though, I'll almost certainly withdraw.

You think valuable knowledge can only stem from egotism?

Just the opposite.

It can only come from humility.

And being humble means admitting you could be wrong or that you are not 100% correct.

So ergo no "wise" human exist that can reasonable argue that their belief is singularly true and remain humble.

That being said, there is some wise people on here. Some are humble, some are egotistical. But I sincerely doubt a single one is able to be what you ask.

I could be wrong though.

That's a widespread falsehood perpetuated by those unable to do so.
So it has been done before and from what I am reading, there seems to be an implication that it has been done by more than one person. Who are those wise individuals and what belief did they reason? I am intrigued, since the nature of belief is usually interpreted as being held without reason or evidence.

Since I dug that rabbit hole and you joined me in it, I would say that we are in no danger of selection for any of the positions. Perhaps that is the wisest position of all. The request was for the wisest, not the bravest.

However, I think I would like to see where KelseyR is going with this and perhaps we should let the first willing candidate get this started. I do wonder if the wisest people on this forum might not be in any circle that I run in or have fled the building, being wise.

Such a human does not exist.
I agree with you. But I wonder if I am clever enough and intelligent enough to determine an argument that appears to achieve the specified results when it, in fact, fails to do so. Not only must we find a needle, but we must be able to eliminate anything that only looks like a needle.
