Did you party New Year's Eve? Where did you party? Did you do anything you now regret? What was it? Do you have a hangover?

We still have about an hour and 15 minutes to go and we're doing our usual "stay at home and out of the way of drunk drivers" new year's eve.

No alcohol for me so no hangover. Just shrimp cocktail, buffalo wings, ice tea and a cheese plate.

My sister and I are watching tv and my 12 year old and his dad are playing scrabble. Woohoo...party! :woohoo:

I had planned to go to bed early last night, as I'm trying to get my body clock vaguely back to normal for when I have to get up at 4am on Monday morning to go back to work. I was unsuccessful, but not because I was up all night partying lol. :p A friend rang me at 8.30pm, convinced she was dying, so I had to drive around to her place, then make a run to the chemist for some heavy-duty painkillers. Sat with her for an hour or so until she felt like she wasn't dying, then came home so wired I couldn't sleep. Went to bed at 11.30pm, only to hear the continual *thump thump* of the bass beat of the music coming from the party next door. Thought I'd see in the new year, so I read my book until midnight, when I then tried to send Maize a text message on my mobile phone...unfortunately, about half a million other people had the same idea, and the network was jammed. The message Maize had sent me at midnight, reached me at close to 2am. The only thing I'm suffering from today is lack of sleep lol.

I'm so boring. I stay at home every New Years', but this year brought some excitment in the form of our upstairs neighbor continuing to play her music so loud that the walls in our apartment shudder. Since this womans' male friend has made his violent behavior apparent by his actions, we've not felt comfortable going upstairs to ask them to turn down the music in awhile, so we've been having to call the non-emergency police line. The woman comes from the 'cops are the enemy' mentality, so the next thing I knew, my door was being knocked on and this woman was demanding to know 'why the h**l' (my mom and I) are calling the police on her. I explained, not for the first time, the my mom has heart arrythmia (sp?) and that sounds as loud as the way she'd been playing her music could trigger that... We eventually reached what I hope was an understanding, but I'm getting more and more tired of the situation.

And that was my exciting New Years!

I've had to do a bit of driving tonight, but now that I'm home, I think my friend and I will raid mother's secret stash. Talk to y'all later!

I fell into a river at around midnight... not quite sure how, exactly... but had a great time! :D

never had a hangover as a matter of fact and, now that i've quit drinking, i don't suppose i'll start anytime soon.

I took my 14 year old neice to our local Ice arena for a Non-alcoholic Rock and Skate Party. I inched my way around the rink holding on to the ledges Once and that was enough for me. Today my arms ache. We left the arena at 10 PM. When I got home I shared some Count Chocula with my 4 year old and read a few books to her before telling her that it was time for bed. She fought it for a half hour and at Midnight she was out like the old year.

My husband and I brought in the New Year watching American Hot Rod on TV and snuggling. Although I have a 3/4 bottle of Hot Sex (Liquor) in my fridge I did not touch any of it because my hubby can't stand the smell of alcohol.

This morning he allowed me and our 4 year year old to sleep in. Unfortunately, noone else thought that I would be sleeping and called at 10 AM. LOL

There is my boring, non-hangover, New Years.

The clearer the liquor, the less apparent the hangover. It's the ketones (or whatever) in the colored spirits that give you the headache the next day.

I had a little wine, but not near enough to get me tipsy.

Lucky! All I need for a hangover is a little tiny bit too much wine and WHAM! Massive hangover the next day! Wine's the worse for me. For some mysterious reason, it seems like beer seldom gives me a hangover.

I never used to get hangovers (although I did get sick plenty) - mostly I just feel awful for not sleeping. People who don't get hangovers are just those who don't overdo it.

Gail and I attend, with Grams of ReligiousForums, a Lighthouse Cafe held at Gram's church. It was an evening of religious songs performed by exceptional voices and a mix of styles. Hymns with a classical voice, blue grass, and a bit of folk - as well as "new gospel" music. I'm here to tell you - the music was NOT hazardous to an Atheist's health but very enjoyable. Plenty of "pot luck" food and deserts!!!!!! Yummmmm, yummmmmm.

The only thing I regret is not being able to sing and singing anyway.

New Year's Eve was also Grams bithday - her 73rd - the oldest, wisest, perkiest member of our forum.
