Who here is actually gay?

Cr0wley

More Human Than Human
I've noticed that many people on this board are pro gay and lesbian. In many of the debates, people who are blindly against gays are often proved wrong by many a good, thought out comment. I'm pro gay because many of my friends are gay and they've often spoken to me about the subject. Also, one of my best friends is a lesbian and I know that her lifestyle doesn't "go against the principals of family values". So, I've been asked if I'm gay before, just because of my view point. Does anyone else get this? And is anyone here actually gay?

What the hell does that mean? It seems to me a bit like being 'pro brown eyes because many of my friends ...'
I'm talking about the opposite of anti-gay...

I don't think you can actually have a middle ground, so that's the side I'd go with. Jeez, I'm just asking a question...:149:

Well, I'm lesbian... I guess that counts. ;) I don't get the "are you gay?" thing a lot IRL. But when I do, I answer truthfully, and much freaking out ensues.

I've had a few homosexual moments, where a male as attracted me for a second or two, but I can't say I'm gay. I always fantasize about women when I'm, er, growing my hand hair. ;)

Hey same here but it was a bit more than a few. Never been out with a guy though or kissed a guy I fancied.

I might be considered bisexual, but I lean towards liking women more often. Don't really plan to have sex with a man.

Gay and lesbian friends though. Good people. :D

It depends. Are you a girl lesbian or a boy lesbian?
*checks in her pants* I think it's safe to say I'm a girl lesbian... :p

Though I'm sure the case is that my girlfriend is lesbian, not me. I'm straight as a rod. ;)

Well, regarding males, I'm as straight as can be - never even considered other men as anything other than a friend. I've been in a bunch of gay bars, and always for the same reason - I'm a boy lesbian. :woohoo:

Of all the types of intolerance in this world, the persecution of gay people is (to me) the most insideous. Then again, all intolerance born of ignorance is loathesome.

Not a guarantee for everyone though, that durned pants-check...

Now me, I'm not gay, but for a while there my dad was convinced that I was just a confused lesbian, does that count? I'm certainly queer-ish. (At the moment, I tend to come off as a pretty effeminate guy...)

everyones gay. we've all thought about it, have tendencies as the text books put it.
I suspect you do not have Deut's respect, because you've failed to check your facts :D Even if 'we've all thought about it' that doesn't mean 'everyones gay'

Perhaps a definition of gay is in order?

Gay-

n.
  1. A person whose sexual orientation is to persons of the same sex.
  2. A man whose sexual orientation is to men: an alliance of gays and lesbians.
Usage Note: The word gay is now standard in its use to refer to homosexuals, in large part because it is the term that most gay people prefer in referring to themselves. Gay is distinguished from homosexual primarily by the emphasis it places on the cultural and social aspects of homosexuality as opposed to sexual practice. Many writers reserve gay for males, but the word is also used to refer to both sexes; when the intended meaning is not clear in the context, the phrase gay and lesbian may be used. Like the other names of social groups derived from adjectives (for example, Black), gay may be regarded as offensive when used as a noun to refer to particular individuals, as in There were two gays on the panel; here phrasing such as gay members should be used instead. But there is no objection to the use of the noun in the plural to refer collectively either to gay men or to gay men and lesbians, so long as it is clear whether men alone or both men and women are being discussed. See Usage Note at homosexual.
hence, you can have 'gay thoughts' or 'gay ideas' and yet not be 'gay' It is necessary, it seems, to have a homosexual orientation.

I myself am bisexual, by the way. I would call myself pansexual, except I feel experience would be necessary - I shamefully admit I have never met an androgyne.
