Who should he held responsible for a pregnancy.
Not pointing blame, seeking opinions.

Males can impregnate two or more ovulating females a day while the female can only get pregnant around once per month.

"Current knowledge indicates that females are born with their entire lifetime supply of eggs(gametes). At birth, the normal female ovary contains about 1-2 million/oocytes (eggs). Females are not capable of making new eggs, and in fact, there is a continuous decline in the total number of eggs each month."

Normal Ovarian Function

"Males however produce new sperm every day, but a full sperm regeneration cycle (spermatogenesis) takes about 64 days.

I vote for both.
Presuming of course said pregnancy is carried to term consensually.
And no I don’t think the male should have any say in the choice for abortion. He can make his own case and maybe try to persuade the pregnant person. But ultimately he doesn’t get to decide.

That might come across as a bit “one sided” but so is the biological phenomenon of pregnancy, really.
Unless the pregnant person’s significant other also experiences morning sickness, birth, health complications, mood swings, cravings and other medical issues that inherently come with pregnancy?

To me its a touchy subject

If she doesn't want a baby, and he does, he has no choice when she aborts it.

If she wants a baby and he doesnt, he again has no choice and pays child support for 18 years.

Point is it took them both to get pregnant, both should have a say in someway.

Whilst I do agree, I stand by my original post.
I do think both parties should have a say in the procedure.

But until we can transfer said pregnancy into the body of the “other party” in the scenario, I have to still give the ultimate choice to the pregnant person.

And unfair as it sounds, both need to be legally responsible after birth. Whether that is maternal/paternal payment, both agreeing to adoption or foster care and both being held responsible for the well-being of the infant.

Unfair? I mean sure, I won’t argue against that. But so is pregnancy, so..

The problem is at its root.

A man and a woman can fall in love and decide to live together, and to form a family consensually.

But if a woman (or a man) decides to live a promiscuous sex life, contraception is a must.
There are so many cheap contraception methods.
So getting pregnant is almost impossible.

Eventually, a man and a woman who are married, need to be responsible and to have sex using contraception, if they want no children.

So, yes...both.

It isn't 100% but I agree. To anyone male or female,,, use protection.
Learn about using protection, teach about using protection, have protection easily available to anyone sexually active.

If I had for example a dog that got pregnant and I made sure she lost those pups before they were born, I would be looked at as an evil person.
The world has gone crazy lol

I did not vote because I think that whoever was supposed to be using birth control is responsible.
If neither party was using birth control I think they are both equally responsible.

The most reliable birth control methods are over 99% effective when used properly.
Since that is the case one has to wonder how many irresponsible people are out there given the high demand for abortions.

A problem is teen pregnancies...but it seems to have some worrying rates in some Western countries.
Maybe because sex is a taboo...and contraception methods are not advertised sufficiently among high schoolers.

I have vivid memories about high school. I recall that boys were too sexually immature to be desirable...or available. And by the way us girls used to dream of the prince charming at that age. Impossible to find. So...

Ok so by that one out of every 100 fails. In a population of over 7 billion......

Teens are going have sex. We, people in general, should allow them easy access to all and every protection(even the after morning pill) or we should quit complaing that they got pregnant.

Exactly. Sex is not a taboo...there is no absolutely need to be ashamed of talking about it if one is a parent.
