T Remember, you may hate Bush and Cheney, and want to "impeach" them (for what, I have no idea), but that doesn't dismiss the fact that a majority of voters re-elected him to office. In a way, when you show your hatred for Bush and Cheney, you are really showing a hatred for those of us who decided to keep him as our President.
I don't hate Bush and Cheney, I'm just puzzled as to why they are allowed to get away with what they have. (I respect you very much, so if you you are genuinely puzzled as to why some folks are outraged, I can PM you with the information.) I in no way hate anyone who decided to vote to keep him in office, any more than I could dislike any group of people. I know a lot of them who are wonderful people (my step-mom is one of them), but I'll admit that I don't quite understand why they did so.

That's why we love you feathers.

But, believe me, I don't think Bush is all that great, either, but still better than Kerry. Hopefully in 2008 we can have some great candidates like Schwartzy. I want to hear him call Ted Kennedy a girly man.

I think the main reason for people voting for Kerry besides voting against Bush would by the economy, and social issues.

Main reason for Bush besides voting against Kerry is national security, and "moral ideals" or something like that.

Its interesting to learn from history. All world powers eventually lose their power and a new one comes into force. That is if you learn from history. A person came by my door who was in college (selling books). Got into a discussion with him. He is majoring in political science. I asked him based on history and based on what he sees this nation heading to, how long does he think this nation will stand? He said he didn't think it would last another 50 years without losing power and he doesn't want to be around when it happens. I have learned that the basic family structure is the strength of any nation. If that is so, then that would tell us this nations direction based on the news. Kids killing parents, grandparents, parents killing babies. etc. I mean, Im not into negative news but I don't remember hearing things like this when I was a teenager. But I am interested in the past AND the future. I do find it intersting that some governments in the past allowed religions to exist to help keep people in step but in these days that don't seem so. Just check out how government is starting to feel toward religion. I have read some interesting things about how the UN has set up temples which is designed to unite people in worship. At the some governments (and I think the UN's) voting patterns is against religion.

First off...Saw...Arnold could never be president as per the constition. Second, string me up if you will, but I happen to think that Bill Clinton was the best president this country has had in...oh...forever. Yes, the man had affairs...whoopty doo...like no other president hasn't? Shoot...JFK did and he was one of the most beloved presidents. Clinton didn't do anything different in that arena than any other...the only thing was that the republicans and media had nothing to slam on him with politically so they hit on his personal life...period. No other president has ended his term with the U.S. out of debt, with a surplus, economy booming, employment rates up and welfare recipients much lower in numbers. Check the statistics. This is why I say Hillary in 2008. She was an intregal part of that administration and knows what to do and how to do it. Not to mention, and Feathers said, I would like to see how a woman would handle things.

So Bush decides to invade Iraq, due to intelligence reports
You obviously think more highly of his motives than I do. He missed his chance to bag Osama and this was the ONLY way for him to save face and the election. It almost backfired on him too. This had nothing to do with WMDs or removing an evil dictator. It was all about spin and getting photo ops of him recklessly landing a jet on a carrier. As always, he has consistently put his desires and agenda ahead of what's best for the American people. He should be ashamed. You should too, if you voted for this meglomaniac (sorry MS, I just couldn't let this slide). I pray daily that he will REPENT and finally let us live in peace.

Arnold can't run for president. o.o

And hey, at least Clinton didn't decided to invade how many countries with no planning and lie about the reasons for them.

We don't need a violent revolution, just some people out of power and gradual chance. Forcing new things on people too fast doesn't work all that well.

I know he "can't" run, but there has been talk of the rupublicans amending the constitution to allow him to, or something like that. Don't know how credible it is, because I heard it from someone.

I have heard of several peaceful (and a few not so peaceful) movements for succession from the USA.

One would create "Cascadia" a new nation to be made up of Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia
http://www.angelfire.com/nv/micronations/cascadia.html
A similer movent wants to create "Arcadian Commonwelth" out of much the same teritory.

The 'Second Vermont Republic" movement goal 8 of wich is:
Foreign Policy. We also favor negotiations with Maine, New Hampshire and the four Atlantic provinces of Canada possibly to create a New Atlantic Confederacy - a nation about the size of Denmark. We would not rule out similar negotiations with Quebec, as well as membership in the U.N.
http://www.vermontrepublic.org/

And naturally there are the old standby's that havent gone away such as the
The Confederate states of America
and serious seperatist movements in various states such as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Texas to name a few.

one a few to create seperate 'christian nations' 'islamic nations' 'whites only' 'blacks only' and 'stoner states' of variuos seriousness.

a nice list of modern sessesion movements:
http://www.angelfire.com/nv/micronations/usa.html

Interestingly enough the state that I hail from was worried from the get-go that America may not last too long or prove a truely workable idea. Thus in our state constitution we specifically put in an article that allowed for us to suceed from the union should it prove detremental to the survival of New Hampshire. So far as I know we are the ONLY state in the union to have such a legal option in the constitution.

would I back such a movement? It would depend on the circumstances, I can't flatly say yes or no... I would like to fix the nation we have, but if it really gets 'that bad' who knows? Nothing lasts forever. (most 'nations' only have an average run time of a couple hundred years anyway)

But PW, none have had the success or infamy as the "Conch Republic"... We are always revolting. :D

The "Conch Republic"? Do I dare ask, hehee?

Not as any slight against the mighty conch, but I envision them as a fairly laid-back type of creature...

ok, I have to say that the Conch Republic is one of the coolest things EVER!

I'd love to become a citizen some day!
