I thought this was interesting:

ScientificAmerican.com - Why Social Media Makes Us More Polarized and How to Fix It

The problem of partisan bias is exacerbated on social media because online networks are often organized around a few key influencers. This feature of social media is one of the main reasons why misinformation and fake news has become so pervasive. In centralized networks, biased influencers have a disproportionate impact on their community—enabling small rumors and suppositions to become amplified into widespread misconceptions and false beliefs.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Go one level deeper and you'll find the real answer is the .00001% ers. The oligarchs.
Money does control the world.

Wanna know what's uber spooky?

That some singular corporate entity such as Sinclair, dictates to countless smaller media like local news on exactly what to say, and exactly how they say it.

There's a degree of accuracy no doubt when it comes to centralized 1 percenters with their own agenda that controls and even drives, divides, and creates conflicts on a whim.

I balked at the statement that NPR was frightening people that Trump was Hitler. The comparisson seems to be coming from social media.
I listen to NPR.
NPR, from what I can tell, reports facts, provides context, and discourages comparing Trump to Hitler. Social media reinforces stereotypes, ignores or omits context, and encouraged comparing Trump to Hitler.
I heard what I heard.
But I agree about social media being troublesome.

I heard what I heard.
Just to be clear, I'm not asking for proof. I'm just curious if you can share any details about what was said on NPR that you deem frightened liberals into thinking Trump was like Hitler.

It was the usual parallels, eg, Trump gave rousing
speeches, demonized foes, offering an appealing
vision of the country's direction.

Significant! Yes, I think I have witnessed that.

Even so I think a lot of the nonsense is put out there as a result of the centralized, purchasable information sold by the big networks. I suspect the political gobbledygook is inextricable from the marketing devices, that you can't have targeted marketing without targeted news nonsense.

How close did they get to calling him Hitler?
Dancing around it with comparisons.
The problem is that associating Trump with Hitler is
to make Trump into a demon ready to fire up the ovens,
& invade Poland. People fearing that will reach new
heights of fear, anger, hatred, & polarization. We saw
lefties becoming more violent along with their foes on
the right.

100 percent Republicans zero democrats.
Right.
In this instance, yes. It was the republicans that decided they couldn't win elections without slandering their opponents and riling up racism and sexism and religious bigotry to motivate people to vote for them, or of loathing for their opponents. And it worked. But at a terrible cost. Because now racism, and sexism, and religious bigotry are driving people's ideals and behaviors.

Your attempts at creating an equivalency are absurd, and pathetic. Democrats have plenty of shortcomings, but stirring up racism, sexism, and religious bigotry is not among them at the current time.

The racism etc stirring is a Democrat thing,
But a true ideolog is blind to how they've been
manipulated.

It's hard to discuss it without an example. I'm familiar with CNN, which I would expect to be more biased than NPR. During the violent demonstrations over the summer, on CNN, I repeatedly heard populist, nationalist, authoritarian. Approaching the election they added supported by white supremecists. After the election they added delusional and desperate.

Bear in mind that 2020 saw violence & racism on both sides,
with the left exhibiting more. The claimed support by white
supremacists is more of a left invention than a reality in terms
of numbers on the right.
