So what are your thoughts? IF the wall is built (that's a big 'if'), then the only way for him to finance the 20 billion price tag will be to impose tariffs on Mexican imports that the American consumer will be paying for. They said that they are going to raise the import tax by .20. And which that will stop a lot of companies from buying products from them, that if they raises the prices on their products to make up the differences. Unless they lower the price of their products. We are they major costumers. While the Asian's countries do more services for those that are across sea. Canada will have to honored it, it is because that it will cost even more to deliver their products by sea, while it is a lot cheaper by land. But they will pay for that wall, or else their economy will collapse. President Trump needs to put the blame on them for the epidemic of crack users here in the States. We cannot cultivate cocaine over here. It only can grow in certain parts South America., in which the only way for it to be imported over here. It is through them. And so they should make an effort to stop the flow of drug traffickers. But by the epidemic of Crack addicts, shows that they are not making any effort to stop it. And so they are endangering the lives of Americans by letting the flow of this drug comes through their country into ours. They should sanction them for not making an effort.

The economic impact of tariffs is well known, since they have been used so often. What will happen is the burden of the tax will be shared by both the suppliers and the buyers. The burden of that tax will be passed from Mexico suppliers to US businesses, to US consumers. We still end up paying for the wall.

The benefits of tariffs are uneven. Because a tariff is a tax, the government will see increased revenue as imports enter the domestic market. Domestic industries also benefit from a reduction in competition, since import prices are artificially inflated. Unfortunately for consumers - both individual consumers and businesses - higher import prices mean higher prices for goods.

And we won't just pay for the wall, we'll be paying for its upkeep, which will be massive.
It would probably be more productive to auction off the privilege of blowing up any walls that do exist and using the money to fund immigration reform programs. Completely removing the criminal element placed on drugs will also go along way in fixing some of the major concerns with immigration, a move that will dissolve numerous criminal organizations and cartels overnight that rely primarily or solely on drug money, and snuff out a major source of revenue for the mobs, cartels, and governments that not be destroyed but ultimately devastated by such a massive loss in revenue. And instead of pumping money into jails and prisons, we can invest in rehab and treatment and work towards healing people instead of turning them into hardened criminals.
Clearly, support for a wall lacks foresight and is honestly puzzling as wall supporters are often enough some of the very first ones to point out that criminals are not going to care if their possession of a gun is legal or not, but yet somehow they believe a wall is going to prevent criminal activity. If anything, a wall would be inviting a criminal organization to exploit it and profit off the situation. The cartels already have tunnels. What's a few more tunnels to "Trump the Chump" and make money by charging a toll for relatively safe passage into America/
