Darren Aronofsky..
I thought it was amazing what he did with Pi, but after Requiem for a dream, I was sure of it!
I think he did a reasonable job with the Fountain and needs to get back to his requiemstyle..
Even though he used to be better than now, I still have him as favourite..

i think you should. it was one of the movies that has poetic visions. more poetry than a movie actually. every scene is just great.

.

ive only seen his samurai movies, not out of choice, but because they were the only ones ive been able to find. ill look for that one tho

You stole my answer *****!!!! :p

I LOVE him. I think his best work is Requiem for a Dream, but The Fountain has incredible depth, character, and storyline that isn't found in most movies these days - a true artistic achievement. I also love the filming techniques he uses in all of his films. The Fountain is his most interesting, IMO, because he actually used a microscope to observe microorganisms and algae to create the special effects in the movie. NO CGI! It's beautiful. All his movies are masterpieces.

Sadly enough, "The Wrestler" is not.. That's why I want him back into requiem-mode :p

Well, I'm going to give him a pass on that one. It's fair enough that he can make a generic movie every once in a while, because that's the only way he can really make it to the Academy Awards :( it's sad, but I think he deserves a break every once in a while. ;)

I hope his next movie is more artistic though :D

i agree, he is really good at using light. i saw Seven Samurais too. he is a special director with no doubt. i am glad he lived long enough to make colour movies, so he made "Dreams" :D

did you know that in his movies where people were shot by arrows, they were actually shot by arrows? i mean for real. they wore wooden blocks under their clothes to take the arrow. if you pause seven samurai you will see the wooden block protruding from under the clothes
