Why Agree with God?

Do you think that intelligent people are more moral?

That leaves one with difficult questions. What is moral? What is the defining plumbline for what is moral? Is intelligence the same as wisdom?

If we can’t agree on what’s moral with reasoning then I don’t personally think it’s based on intellect.

I don't believe in all of that omni stuff its not in Jewish scripture that I know of....

Also I don't think that knowledge makes you have better morals.
At the very least God knows a lot more than we do. Especially when you know God knows all your thoughts and everything about you. (Psalm 139:1-6)

What about angels do you think you know more than angels? Angels believe God is right.

What is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge in the Jewish scripture?

I believe God as described by Judaism exist, but I am baffled by why so many people believe that becuase a god or goddess exists that we should agree with their rules and attitudes.

Why is this so prevelant?

Thanks for your time and please play nice. :)

AS I see it about the Real God: Argue, Disagree, Complain, Scream, Pout, and even Hate if you must. It's all OK! It's all a part of when one questions. On the other hand, when the Math starts to add up and you start to see the Genius behind everything, things will change before your eyes for you will have acquired True Understanding.

It's a little like the stranger that moved to the small town. Everyone thought the stranger was crazy until one day someone said: Look closely for there is Method to the Madness.

All these rules you speak of, I would be very careful saying they are coming from God, you might just discover Mankind has a Big hand in them.

Just because someone knows more it doesn't make them right. It means they can see more possibilities. But I don't see how any of these makes someone "right".....

Wait....I think I get it! You think that there must be an objective right, correct?

Why do you think he is those things? I know Christian scriptures say he is like that, but the Jewish ones seem to say he is at least not all-loving,

As a Mormon I believe OT, NT, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price are all scripture. That whole package shows God to be what I believe him to be. If that God exists, as I believe he does, I would have to be one arrogant dude to believe I could out think him on morality.

What do they say then?

Many things about God. He is powerful and knowledgeable and can be loving but he can also be angry, wrathful, and jealous.

That depends entirely on who you talk to. Mostly, I believe that some form of 'treat others as you would be treated' covers pretty much everything.

The scriptures have many rules......Not eating pork is a (in)famous example.

his children

What if only the Jews are His children? What if He is looking out for Himself?

God is so powerful and intelligent He could easily manipulate us if He wants to.

Why do people believe there must be one objective morality? What leads people to believe that?

But....I asked why you thought that God's opinion was the right one....and then you said he would know the most about morality.....and now are you saying that it's because it's God's opinion?

I think we've gone around in a circle.....

No offense but you are going in circles, not me. I made it very clear that I believe in the God of the OT, NT, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. That God is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and the Supreme Determiner of what is moral. Since I believe that God exists, I would be incredibly arrogant to challenge his position on anything. Then you asked me why I believe there is objective morality. Well, because the God in whom I believe and whom I do not challenge, says there is objective morality. So then you ask, why don't I challenge God. To which I remind you that I don't challenge God becasue of whom I believe him to be... and we go in circles...but I think you are spinning the circle :)

Ummm I didn't want to make you angry.....I'm just going to not reply for now okay?

EDIT: Also you said a very scary thing that you edited out, and I'm just not comfortable talking to you right now.....

Whoa, hold on. I am not angry. Perhaps came across that way unintentionally. You made a statement in another post about God killing children, as if to say God is a terrible being. I believe that interpretation to be so very, very wrong. God loves all of his children and the scriptures say he weeps when we suffer, especially children. Fortunately, I believe that if a young child's life is tragically cut short, they go to be with God in heaven. But Jesus said of anyone who would offend a child "It would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea..."

I do not adhere to the Bible because I am a Baha'i, and we have a new revelation from God that came through the Prophet Baha'u'llah. He explained what we can know about God, which is very little although it is enough. :)

I see no reason to believe in older scriptures when we now have new scriptures that are very clear and easy to understand. :)

So you don't believe in the Jewish prophets?

EDIT: Also I don't believe in the Bible, I believe in the Torah.
