There are rational explanations to everything
Let's take out all this magic mumbo-jumbo, God in the heavens stuff and ask ourselves whether there are rational explanations to these ideas
If you go back in time, life was pretty hard for our ancestors - 3 square meals a day was a luxury, most people depended on Agriculture, crops fail and people basically starved to death. In those harsh times people must have wondered - is this it? And then death? That's all?
And then some guy started talking about life after death - a magic land of plenty awaits - a Sugar Daddy ready and waiting with a bucket of chicken - you get to sit back and take it easy! Must have sounded like music to our ancestors ears
In those days Kings ruled with an iron fist - there was no democracy - so the guy who started this idea used the local king as his template for God. Slaves/Servants brought before the King got down on their knees, swore undying loyalty, shaking with fear, begged for his mercy and protection. Loyalty was of utmost importance to the King naturally, he might tolerate a pedophile, mass murderer if he was useful but will not tolerate even the best disloyal person
It's these same ideas that Christianity and Islam teach - belief is now loyalty - and in the Kingdom there is no room for unbelievers. Slaves fighting over how best to serve the master so that he will bestow blessings on them, taught to hate those who do not kneel to the Master. Fighting over who master likes best and that is where minorities like the Ahmadis and other religions suffer
Can't believe that in the 21st century - Master/Slave religions are the dominant ones - greed for the easy good life brainwashing even the best of them
