What sort of debate/discussion to you primarily participate in?

Was this your intention when you initially signed up? Or did your interests shift one way or the other during your time here?

No, i signed up because the previous forum i frequented did the dirty and essentially kicked out all its not American members by shadow banning them. I was looking for somewhere to hang out and RF looked promising, and far better regulated then the previous food fight

Or did your interests shift one way or the other during your time here?

Not really, though they have expanded quite a bit, and ive learned a hell of a lot about different religions

I'm curious about what and how people are thinking. We humans are an amazing phenomenon, wonderfully inventive and very emotionally dynamic. A bit scary but mostly awesome. I thank you all for being here and for being willing to share your thoughts and perspectives.

I'm not here for a single reason. Also, I find the discussion/debate distinction rather too grey.
I was a asking for a primary reason, not a singular one.

For anyone who isn't clear on the discussion/debate distinction, here's an explanation as it relates to this forum:

I'm just here looking for a fight. Crocs with socks and Hawaiian shirts, @SalixIncendium? Explain yourself
Crocs with socks is considered (by me to be) high fashion, especially argyle socks. I can lose the Hawaiian shirt. In fact, I like the suggestion. Doing so would better show off my Speedos and awesome dad-bod physique.

I think I'm here because, like everyone, I have all kinds of thoughts about the world running around in my head, and if I don't get them out an exercise them in some way, I won't have a good idea what kind of legs these ideas have, how far they'll go, or whether they have any legs at all. :)

Along those same lines, I'm getting older, and I kind of see it as being similar to doing the NY Times crossword puzzle, or other games and activities as a means of keeping the mental machinery functioning and not succumbing to atrophy.

Thanks but it can still come down to a subjective call to me. Please note this is a discussion thread so you cannot say anything suggesting you may perhaps wish to prove me wrong. :)

Ok, I've responded.

It's not the best fit, but I said to discuss your horrid fashion sense...

Actually, I like to hear about peoples' experiences...not their interpretation of their experiences...nor others' interpretation of others' experiences...but the experiences that people have...

After being here awhile I discovered the jokes/etc. forum and spend most of my time there...

You know, I've been told that the sunlight reflecting off my bald head can blind a man at 100 paces. I'd rather gaze into the reflection of a mirror at my bald head at high noon than to chance seeing your "speedos and awesome dad-bod physique"

If that don't work, I'll just shine lasers in my eyes

Now that I've looked it up.... what was actually done? (assuming you know...)

A non American could post, and could see that post. The post was not visible to anyone but the poster.

Personally i think its a dirty trick that keeps the non American poster on the hook and keeping their user numbers up so they could sell international advertising.

Ok, but why would they decide to do it in the first place? Why allow non-Americans at the outset?
