Hi All,

My question is that why are you proud of being what you are(Muslim, christan, hindu, sikh)?.

I am a Sikh and I am proud because for me its the true way to attain god, no caste system, no hatered for anyone,no animal sacrifices, no rituals, no demi god, best simran(sikh hymes) etc Why are you?

I don't tend to use the word 'pride' for myself. I often don't see the sense in using that term. So I would say in this case that I am satisfied with being a student of the Bhagavad Gita and of Krishna because it covers all bases of personal fulfillment (wisdom, depth, logic, knowledge, inspiration etc). Basing myself as this type of Hindu also allows me to reject the caste system, hatred for others, animal sacrifices, rituals, demi gods etc.

I started out as a die-hard, fanatical pentecostal-type Christian. The road to deconversion is not an easy road for some of us; as delusions are not easy to overcome. Going from someone who truly believed in God, salvation, speaking in tongues, miraculous healing, demonic possession and creationism to an atheist ... this was not an easy road for me, and I am proud of my accomplishments in making that years long, sometimes painful and sometimes traumatic, transition.

My question is that why are you proud of being what you are(Muslim, christan, hindu, sikh)?

I am not proud but I happen to be a Hindu. I have tailored my Hinduism to my needs.
