Yes I agree, we really are silly ain't we............I think there is some cultures where men holding hands is normal for them ?.

Sex. On TV? Hold on! Get the censor boards out! A travesty is occurring!

Violence. Anywhere? That's okay, that's part of life. It builds character to see that. Cartoon characters that seek to hurt/kill each other is kinda cute and funny. Can't get enough of that.

I find it really funny that up until relatively recently, in the West anyway, it was seen almost as a given for soldiers to be homosexuals. Even(maybe even especially?) the Holy Orders of the Crusades were quite obviously...well. Yeah.

Recall I carried a gun for a living for over 2 decades.
I no longer carry a gun.
But you can bet your sweet behind I have one handy.

Oh, yeah! I remember. 13 serious injuries including 3 concussions, time spent in the hospital,
time spent in physical rehab to the tune of NINE MONTHS learning to walk again and severe p.t.s.d. for which I am again in treatment!
I have NO ISSUES with men holding hands.
I have no problem filling mine with hardware either.

Yeah. I don't see reason for guns other than sports like target shooting or shooting a tree. If not for self-protection (country, self, or otherwise), I rather not have guns at all. It would be odd in the Western world to see more men couples and women couples hold hands in public like I see people do in the spring time here. Sometimes I want to pluck them on the head, but, well, I'm not the type that would do such a thing. :D

To many people they find it more comfortable for people to hold guns than holding hands. To me, holding guns is not just for protection. We see people use guns on t.v. all the time. We know there are gun crimes etc. I haven't heard many people feel comfortable about that, are you comfortable with that?

While majority, maybe, would be uncomfortable with two men holding hands (to put it simply). So if there was an intimate scene between two men, they may have more harsh reaction than seeing someone die in a murder mystery from a gun. I don't feel uncomfortable with two people holding hands,

but if you say both, do you feel comfortable with people holding guns not just for protection but for killing too?

There is quite a large difference between holding a gun and aiming a gun with the intent to use it, Carlita.

Read the context. They aren't talking about holding a gun. They are talking about the usage of guns-the purpose thereof is more comfortable than the act of and purpose thereof two men holding hands.

It's making a statement that we are more comfortable with objects that cause harm than actions that leads to commitment.

I understand that, Carlita. I also understand the current anti-gun hysteria that is sweeping through your country. I also understand that Americans are late to the party on gay rights and same-sex marriage. There is a host of sociological reasons involved and we could dissect the different aspects till the cows come home. Tolerance is a weird beast and it is unrealistic to expect deeply entrenched attitudes to change overnight.

Well, homosexuality isn't quite as common as a man holding a gun, so it might surprise people who have not been exposed much to male homosexuality. Also (and by we, I'm assuming you mean the West), men holding hands just isn't a 'thing' in 'our' culture.
