Why calling yourself Shia, Sunni..etc

Why not Muslim and then full stop.

Was Muhammed calling himself Shia ?
How to follow the teaching of the prophet and then choosing a name of religion that never existed ?
Was Moses Shia or Sunni ?

Is it awful to call yourself as just a Muslim ?

Those who are forcing people to be Sunnis and Shias for their political reasons are hypocrites, there should be no sects in Islam, the same as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammed all were Muslims.

No need for the Sunnies to do the same mistake of the Shia, let them be Shia if they wished to be so and let the others be just Muslims.

[003:064] Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than God." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we are Muslims ."

[6:159] “ As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you are no part in them in the least , their affair is with Allah, He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did.”
