Why cant I be straight?

No one knew what kind of person I would be.... I didn't know that I would love penis, even though women are exceedingly attractive. I think it's okay to identify myself as a female who is interested in men, and I'm not ashamed. It's okay to assume that this Panda is a hetero. :) le'end

thats funny, but true! i had a customer in the store i work at just yesterday that is gay, and neither i or anyone else that works here have a problem with that, but he acts like he is mad at all of the straight people in the world. why? what is this world coming to? not long ago, if someone was gay, they would hide it because they were ashamed, now they think we should be ashamed for being straight! i dont get it. but i am proud to say that i am straight.

Some homosexuals despise some straight people due to the fact that homosexuals are to be feared or hated. This due to religions or other things.

Here is an example. Take the blondes. Some think they are ditsy and dumb. Why? Because they are portrayed as such in movies and other places.

Some straight people to homosexuals are hated due to the experiences they have had with some straight people. You may be fine with someones sexuallity, but maybe not 'John' or 'Jane' next to you. *Don't look around. John or Jane are really not next to you. Don't get paranoid :p. But this will make some gay, lesbian, crooked people (like me) think that some straight people are mean or bad. I like straight people. I married one. He is the other end of the some straight people :D.

It's all the portrayal. We are who we are. We are who we choose to be. But to some eyes, we are portrayed differently. That's the problem now a days.

Thank you! I don't think enough people are actually glad to be straight. If we can be proud to be homosexual, why can't we be happy to be heterosexual too? It seems that lately, people want to make me feel guilty for being straight! It's kind of backwards, but I've never dumped on homosexuals, so why is it wrong for a female to like a male?

Now I can't remember who said this, (or something close to it) but I agreed.

Basically, what was said was, why are straight people applauded for acting a gay part in a movie or even kissed a member of the same sex, and patted on the back with the words "that must have been hard". Why are gay people not treated the same way when they play a straight part in a movie - that when they kiss a member of the opposite sex they are applauded and patted on the back with the words "that must have been hard".....

Because gay people are immersed in a tolerant environment (otherwise we'd be open to charges of hypocrisy) while straight people are coming from an environment that can often be proudly intolerant. So when they reach across the aisle, it's stretch that risks ostracism, but when we reach across the aisle we're just doing what we always do.

I've known intolerant homosexuals. Being a dick is sometimes what makes us human. I would say that anyone can be proudly intolerant, since I like to think of myself in an equal society as far as this is concerned.

Anyway, I still don't think it's a shame to be proud of who you are. That doesn't mean that I attack homosexuals. In fact, I have quite a few homosexual friends, and they think I'm pretty tolerant.

I'm just as uncomfortable in a room of lesbians as a lesbian is in a group of straight women. That's life. No one is any better than anyone else. That's what I'm trying to get at. I can be proud of who I am if everyone else can be. Apparently, sexual orientation is something to celebrate, so let's ******* celebrate!

Sexual orientation is simply about who you are. So lets not celebrate simply sexual orientation, lets celebrate Who We ARE!!!! All of it!! :D

I'm sure I'd be quite comfortable in a room full of lesbians.:flirt:
(but then I do have some bi tendencies,
so maybe that doesn't count.;))

Less than "celebrating" who we are as individuals,
I think it's important that we embrace who we are
in our totality. Then celebrating Life is easy! :rainbow1:

A lesbian in a room of straight women would be too comfortable. Trust me.

Excuse me, if you're not going to accept that someone can be happy to be straight, then why comment? Do you enjoy tearing down those who are different from you?

I just think it's funny how someone can write "why can't I be gay?" and joke around and everyone thinks it's a wonderful fun thing for a straight person to ask such a question. I'm MORE than in favor of just embracing who I am, because I'm happy with who I am. However, I don't understand why no one will stand behind me and say "good point" because I feel that I should enjoy my sexuality.

.... Call me crazy, but I just don't get it! If we want equality, why do we waste our time on stupid questions like, "Why can't I be gay/straight" ?

Why do you think people wouldn't accept that someone can be happy to be straight?
In your experience is this a pervasive attitude amongst those of other orientation?

I have experienced this attitude regarding race.
I remember once this (black) girl at school just couldn't/wouldn't believe
that I was perfectly happy as I was,
and that I didn't secretly wish I was black.

Our mutual friend (also black) would try to convince her that YES
I was actually truly happy being myself, just as I was.

(I was a Jazz Music major.
I'm sure this added to her skepticism.:D)

LOL! It just makes me laugh.

People often project their own issues/insecurities onto others.
What what of it? Ya know? What does it really matter.

Ok. Now I think I get you.

It's just that it was a joke.

And the "why can't I be gay" thread was written by a straight.
So the proper inverse would be
a "why can't I be straight" thread written by a gay. No?

Eh. I dunno. Sometimes things just don't inverse themselves naturally.

"why can't I be straight" written by a straight
came off confusing for me. Serious.
I didn't get it.
