Yes , Christ death accomplished many things on the cross and Heb 9:15 , explains another reason that Christ death did .
In Heb 9:15 reads , " And for this cause He is the mediator of the New Covenant , that by means of DEATH , for the Redemption of the Transgressions or SINS ,that were under the FIRST COVENANT ".
This means that Christ paid for the sins that the Jews committed under the OT or what is called the Old Covenant .
This also means that the Old Covenant was judged at the cross and Israel was set aside in the bible in Acts 28:28 , and Israel has been set aside for over 2000 years , until the fulness of the Gentiles come in , Rom 11:25 .
