For some onknown reason I am reminded of the classic urinal notice:
Please do not throw cigar butts in the urinal! It makes them soggy and hard to light.

I have now. I will say that I don't know much about the Witch Hunts in Europe, but I love history and want to learn more.

i'll try and find more information about the Pendle Witches... if i remember correctly, one of the charges brought against one of them was not saving the life of a cow, but i need to check that up so don't hold me to it.
British history has some rather amusing gems in it
Edit: here's a good little overview of the line of events, it mentions that Demdike (one of the older Witches) was asked to heal a cow and that it died, and that this was used as part of the evidence Alizon gave about her family being Witches.
