Why do Christians pick and choose?

I thought believing that Jesus was the son of God was made a Christian a Christian.

Who decides what to keep then? Why not keep the law of not mixing fabric, or cattle, and covering hair in church?

I can't see how a loving God would throw someone into hell for loving someone of the same gender - they might have an otherwise, almost 'perfect' life - yet love is what will put them in hell.

II can't help but think that the laws that affect the majority - clothes for example, are ignored, yet what might not affect the majority - homosexuality is maintained. So that most people have nothing to lose or change.

Looks like you are doing the picking and choosing.

But it gives a very strange flavour to your Idea of Chrstianity.

A Christian is a follower of Jesus.
Much of the Bible is only connected to Jesus by the fact it is mentioned in the same book. More of the Bible is about to the Jews than it is about Jesus.

I'm not picking and choosing anything. It's clear what the Bible says, and it's clear that Christians do not follow all of the laws.

Would there be Christianity without Jesus?
