Why do humans exist ?

Answer: To ask questions like this (among other things).

There are two possible (groups of) answers - blind destiny or providence:

Life is an accidental event in a totally meaningless dance of atoms.

OR

Life was meant to be and has a purpose (even if the purpose is to chose your own one).

Why is there life at all?

Do you want the simple abiogenesis

Or do you want the more in-depth entropy explanation that only allows abiogenesis at a certain point duringptomaine the universes slide in the chaos?

We have historic access to the biological evolution but not to the earlier process of origin of life itself.

Perhaps the ultimate philosophy question.
My guess is this has to do with the second law; entropy of the universe has to increase. Life and consciousness both generate a lot of entropy increase, with humans evolving, to help further maximize the second law. Human now add extra complexity to nature and culture.

Neuron pump and exchange cations lowering the entropy of these cations. While the firing of neurons and memory allow entropy to increase. Since our sensory systems also fire neurons, conscious use of the sensory system helps the 2nd law. This is common to all animals. Human can self reflect and think and are not limited to instinctive impulses, although we also do that. Thinking and reflecting adds another way to fires neuron and adds to the 2nd law, beyond being just an animal.

In contemporary times, with computer and internet, there are so many more stimuli and exposure to ideas and images, all of which fire neuron and add to the 2nd law even more.

I decided not to get too philosophical but stick to something I could quantify.

Perhaps there is no "why"?????

Personally I believe that God lives through his humans, so that's why IMO

A good guess IMO.

“You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.” (Alan Watts)

"We are a way for the cosmos to know itself." (Carl Sagan)

"The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love." (Meister Eckhart)
