Why do I have insufficient permissions to post in specific religion's subforums?

Does it have something to do with the fact that my account is only 1 day old? It's probably a stupid question, but please help me out.

I'm guessing you are speaking of the DIRs (Discuss Individual Religions). The reason you cannot post is likely due to the fact that you have not selected a DIR. In order to select a DIR, follow this link: https://www.religiousforums.com/account/personal-details.

Please select only two or three with which you identify. I would advise you to read the Forum Rules, specifically Rule 10, which can be found here: RF Rules, prior to posting in a DIR.

I hope this helps. And welcome to RF. I hope you enjoy the forums.

Question - do you see a giant banner at the top of the DIR sections you're trying to post in? All the instructions and info should be in that giant banner at the top of the section. It's kinda hard to miss, so I'm a bit concerned it isn't displaying properly for you and perhaps other users?

I haven't seen those in weeks. I thought the staff got rid of them.
I might not realize I am in a DIR until the bottom of the page.

Greetings WaterofAin!
Welcome to RF.

There are plenty of people better able to help you with technical questions. It'll get fixed up I am sure.

To the best of my recollection, I don't recall ever seeing a banner at the top of a DIR section, even before I joined the staff.

OK, I checked the Left Hand Path Religions DIR checkbox, but I still cannot create new topics in that subforum. How to fix this?

I remember seeing a notice before, but I'm not sure how to find it. As I check the Dirs I am not seeing it.

It will lock in within an hour but probably less. The server takes a little time to make the change.

You must listen to Watain, hails! One of my favorite bands, seen them live. :D

Anyway, yeah you have to put yourself IN specific DIRs because they're safe spaces or something. :D The LHP DIR is kinda dead because all of the bad kids are posting on some other forum that I can't link here because it's against the rules, or something. Though we still occasionally haunt here, well at least I do. Anyway, mostly mentioning it because if it seems like it takes a few days for someone to engage you - do not be frustrated, people will. Most of what we post on "that other forum" would get us banned here, so they are complementary operations not competing. :D

There should be an un-dismissable banner at the top of each of the DIR sections. Let me fiddle around with some stuff behind the scenes and see if I can't get it displaying properly again. Confession - I don't really know what I'm doing here. :D

Ah, I think I see how the site owner set this up. The notice banner about DIRs should show for anyone who hasn't selected any DIRs, and will go away for anyone who has selected them already. @WatersOfAin - could you verify this for me? You should have seen a banner/notice at the top of all DIR sections since you are new and hadn't selected any. It's set to display on all screen sizes, for any user who is logged in and viewing DIRs and hasn't selected membership in any DIR.

Been there..... done that... got the T-shirt......
it only took me a few days here to make a number of posts... and then
when I decided to edit my profile and add some details and I saw a place where I could ASK to post in other forums.......
I did so... .and voila.......
I can now post all over this forum.......

Oh this is an easy one...very simple...the fact that your account is only one day old...could actually be 8 days old...Or how ever many candles are on those Mendora things...
