I'm not much educated in Sunni - Shi'a conflict because I don't bother who is right or who is wrong because this conflict looks more of a political battle to me. The only distinction I make between Muslims is good Muslim & bad Muslim. Do you face Kaaba, Karbal, random side? I don't care, as long as you do good you are good and Allah will judge the weight of our good & bad deeds.
Indeed. The aim is to be a good Muslim.
Of course, Shia and Sunni discussions have some political issues. And the fact that Islam has got some political aspects, is undeniable. Islam is a comprehensive plan of life, it never ignores any aspect of human life including political movements and leadership.
Allah will judge based on the weight of our good & bad deeds. The works that we could have done. The works that we had the duty of doing. Brother, here are some Hadiths of prophet(pbuh).
-If a Muslim observes a Bid'ah(a wrong new work) in Islamic society, he must use all his effort and knowledge to deal with it.
-If a Muslim founds an innocent person who needs his help(against the cruel people) and he ignores the innocent, he is not from me.
Shia Muslims face toward Kaaba in their prayers, and it's just rumors that they face Karbala. And if you and I find a Muslim who faces any other path when he/she says his/her prayer, we have the duty of talking to him/her as it is Bid'ah.
If you and I find a cruel politician, king, ruler or... who annoys innocent people, we have the duty of denouncing it. At least in our heart. We cannot ignore it.
Islam has got 5 pillars and 10 sub-pillars. Here are two sub-pillars
- Amr bil ma'ruf (Ask people to do good works)
- Nahy an al-Muknkar (Ask people to avoid bad works or dont let people do bad works)
In many cases, both of those who commit bad works and those who ignore their deeds are punished by God. You can detect it in Quran. God dislikes silence of those who ignore bad deeds and punishes both groups. In any field.
Both Shia and Sunni regard Husain ibn Ali(a.s), the grand child of prophet(pbuh) and the 3rd Imam of Shia Muslims, as the chief of Heaven's youth. Prophet(pbuh) himself called him with that name.
Husain(a.s.) gave his life and family fighting with the cruel king, Yazid. He said: "The main goal of my rise is to perform "Amr bil ma'ruf and Nahy an al-Muknkar " and help the religion of my grandfather stay alive".
