Why do men wear ties & a woman wears dresses?

Why do men wear ties & a woman wears dresses?

Why do male birds flash its feathers and dance in circles while mammals flex its muscles to attract a female while the human male sits back while the female fluffs her hair and wear colorful makeup.

Why did humans reverse this role?

Especially the tie thing, why do men wear ties?

Don't think my husband has worn a tie... Ever.

And i mostly prefer jeans and wear little (or no) makeup

But while the average fluffed up woman is doing her best to attract a mate she is (usually) evaluating many factors of the male. Sitting back won't earn them many points unless there are attributes to counter the laziness portrayed by the slouching posture.

But men have been wearing ties since the caveman days. Have you never watched an episode of the Flintstones?

I know, one of life's major disappointments but cartoons are not real,

The tie was first worn by Croatian mercenaries as part of their uniform. When King Louis XIII was hiring for the 30 years war the tie, known as a cravat, was adopted as a fashion statement

Heh, this reminds me of a time when I missed the school bus and instead stayed home to eat breakfast (abnormal) as mom had made porridge. I was wearing my tie and the end had dipped in the cereal. It never came out and everyone always knew my tie because it had porridge stains on :D
It used to be that various repairmen had to wear ties to work on printers and such. there are tales about things like this that floated around once upon a time.

Men have decorated themselves mightily at different times and places. The current fashion of drab males and colorful females is just fashion.

I started this thread after watching a National Geographic show that filmed birds mating and it was the male that had the colorful feathers and danced in circles to impress the females. Looking a little further I discovered that it was the male’s who tried to “impress” the females in most animal species except the human one. In the human mating game, it’s the female that fluffs her hair and colors her face to get some attention.

The role is reversed and I wondered why.

Then came the tie thing which I believe it is a sigh of submission.

You've obviously never seen me in a dress.
