Do you ever get the feeling some people are more interested in creating and promoting the "Myth of Creationists" than in enlightening us about them?

I get the feeling that they know they've hit upon a cash cow and are going to milk it as hard and as long as they can.

I don't trust anything on Youtube.

You could research the subjects yourself. And you would still end up at the conclusion that these statements made by the creationists are so fulminatingly stupid that they have to know they are lying.

I think this whole Creation vs. Evolution thing is a futile and unwinnable war, like Iraq but with less chance of it being productive. Too much focus on Creation takes away from ordinary Christianity. Satan must love this stuff because it plays right into his hands.

You know something? If I only believed that Satan does exist, I would agree with you 100% on this.

well creation just lost its last sate in the US , now creation cannot be taught anymore in the USA. [in public schools] our children can now learn real science.

the creation myth lost a long time ago really, its just going to take a while to educate people.

Satan must love this stuff because it plays right into his hands.

this doesnt have anything to do with sinning, this has everything to do with knowledge.

You don’t understand, it is not about winning any ideological war, and it is not even about defeating creationism. If one person gains a better understanding and appreciation of science than that is more than victory enough.

Agreed. It's not about point-scoring - it's about what is acceptable and unacceptable to promote as knowledge.

- Because they only lie when their lips move -

Tis worse than that.
I think most of'm are sincere & honest about their beliefs.

Mama told me that those kinda people are pathalogical liars: they believe their own lies.

I don't have so much a problem with creationists believing in creationism as I do with them lying about their degrees, fabricating and misrepresenting evidence, and just flat making stuff up. That's outright dishonesty and not representing a principle of faith.

To believe one's own lies seems both oxymoronic & ordinary moronic....but it could pass for honesty.

No argument here.

I am not even silghtly opposed to doing that. Since I am Christian you assume I am some Luddite or anti-science person but that is not true. Why would I close my mind to science if I wanted to keep it open to God? God is the source of everything science knows.

I make no such assumption. You assume I make such an assumption because I am an atheist.;)

So you can see the point of the evolution/creationism debate.
