Why do people refer to space as nothing or nothingness?

I am new to the forum but my take on space differs dramatically than most. I think of space as an entity of sort but more transcendent that most would like to believe. It is like the ether of the soul to think that space exists as anti-matter when it is on matter that materializes itself into objects as tiny as atoms and neutrons. What is empty is one's perception that matter and anti-matter degenerates into something that simply has no sustaining metaphysical quality other than to simply exists. What I find interesting is what anti-matter exists for since there are no scientific qualifications as to what the uses are since all matter resides in the territory of the one being I like to call God.

What use would matter be if it was to simply put it reside in a system that looks for a beginning and end when there is no beginning and end to God. Is not matter an extension of the beauty of his creation and is time only relevant for us to discuss our own moralities and to measure the distances of objects we can only dream of visiting. What's more is that time and space simply cease to exist to a being so grand and therein lies the real question. Does space have a use? I would say yest to that question and move on because the real use for it is not to observe its usefulness but to simply accept that God existed in its creation and therefore has a use that is most probably beyond our understanding.

Antimatter is like matter--it has mass, etc, it just has opposite charges and spin that matter has. An anti-proton and a positron can combine to form anti-hydrogen in much the same way as a proton and electron can form regular matter hydrogen. Antimatter exists in and uses the same space that matter does.

As for your comment regarding a beginning and an end--the word temporary is etymologically related to the word temporal for a reason--impermanence and change is a property of matter.

Those too. Impermanence is considered one of the three marks of existence by Buddhists.
