Why Do Some People Think Questioning Judaism is Antisemitic?

You're just argumentative, and trying to find reasons to accuse.... You didn't get the point, and continuously act like you're superior, if you were right in the slightest I'd apologize, and concede the statement; yet since you're just arguing, and without showing evidence it is a waste of time.

Yet thank you, you've shown me why some people see questioning Judaism as antisemitic; when this is common within communication with some Jews, when they speak to people like they're all ignorant, without showing or explaining to them where they're in error.
One need not try to find reasons to accuse when what is presented makes it readily apparent where the ignorance lies. That you cannot, after being shown your error, see why you are wrong goes a long way in explaining how you choose not to read or think.

What are you quoting that second bit where he was wrong for, it was a hypothetical statement to begin with, which is clearly still misunderstood.... Didn't say that is what Judaism states.
or think.
You should try this; you've been wrong throughout the conversation, and still don't even question that you might have misunderstood to begin with.

well, if you want to hold tight to the absolutely wrong position and continue to protest instead of learning, then by all means...
if you want to claim that the "Torah Laws could be seen as barbaric" because you do not understand "Torah laws" then by all means...
if you want to insist that rabbinic Judaism "rescinds" laws even though claiming that shows a deep ignorance, then by all means...

(notice how I started with "if" so I must not mean that that is what you are doing)

Considering how many times this has happened on this forum, think we should have a proper topic on what is antisemitism....

This topic is expanded from here; as got accused of being antisemitic again for questioning Judaism as a religion.

Antisemitism is a hatred of Jews as a people, making racists, and bigoted statements against them; not by questioning Judaism or its beliefs.

Too many times it is used as a defense, for anything that might make objective points about the religion or practises, that people don't necessarily agree with.

So what are your understandings of antisemitism? :innocent:
On reading the other thread I don't think that you were displaying any bigotry, but I don't know that you made a lot of sense either. I haven't witnessed people slinging the term antisemite very often here and never for questioning Judaism. I've never had a problem saying that I disagree with circumcising children in the absence of medical need and never been called and antisemite for it, just told to shut up and mind my own business (fairly so). I've had a go at the OT before and the response wasn't, you're a bigot, it was (also fairly), you don't know what you are talking about.

It's clear that one or two people feel you have previous form, perhaps you should try to address this with them.
