Why do U.S. Americans hate on American athletes for speaking their mind?

If we do not defend the right of others to say things which we detest, then we should not expect others to defend our right to say what we hold dear.

Well, after his second term is over in 2024, I'm sure he will be offered many opportunities to do just that.
He won't run again. Unless by some miracle he does a better job than he has already done and gains more support, he wouldn't want to risk losing. Much better to walk away and forever say that he could have won again, than face defeat.

Whaddaya mean?
He risked losing the first time he ran.
Why would he be so risk averse for a 2nd?

'I do not agree with a word you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!"

Usually this is attributed to Voltaire, but it seems to be dues to Alfred-Pierre Agache.

That's a good one, too. But it's not the one I was thinking of. The one I had in mind may have been a line from a US Supreme Court decision. I'm not sure.

Of course, if no one else claims it, then I'll take credit for it. (It is, through tactics such as this, that I mislead others into thinking I am wise.)

I don't think it is in line with his character. I think it is more likely that he will claim he could have won again. If someone cites his lack of popularity he will just say that those polls said he wasn't popular the first time he won.

I might be wrong. People making long odds predictions usually are. I am predicting not just that there will be no second term, but that he will not run a second term.

He didn't have anything to risk the first time around. He was an underdog and had nothing on the line. If he ran again, he would face more than just a rejection character, he would face a rejection of his actual performance.

Trump won't run again. I might be wrong. Earmark this thread and remind me if I am. Are you willing to be wrong by suggesting he will run again, not that he will win, just that he will run again?

I make no predictions about what Trump will do.

I do. In any situation, he will reflect things back to himself, ignoring the pain and suffering of others to make a political point or to boost his ego.

That has been a very consistent indicator of his actions all along.

You're cheating!
Just saying Trump will do as Trump always does is an observation, not a prediction.
