Why do we debate politics?

It's about right and wrong. I'm not interested in mainstream politics. I'm interested in war, corruption, injustice, war crimes and other disgusting symptoms of rotting souls. I spent a long time reading about this current ww3 situation and most people don't know **** about it. It's terrible what is going on right in front of them and they can't stop mourning over the gas prices and school uniforms..

Aren't war, corruption, injustice and war crimes more a symptom of political dysfunction than "rotten souls?"

I debate politics because I assume that my opposite is rational, will offer rational arguments and likewise respond to my rational arguments.

As that assumption is becoming more difficult to maintain, I debate politics less and less.
