Imagine a world without gods.
What's natural? What's nature?pieces of rock formed by natural processes
What about them?Imagine a world with warring gods.
What about them?
Possibilities eh? Theories about gods. I am not into that. I don't know.Well the 'goodly' world that many try to prove as being an obvious facet of any god might not be the only option. Why not consider all possibilities, along with no gods?
I need God for the same reason an imperfect computer program needs a skilled Programmer --- Minimize the impact of it's imperfections and achieve a high quality of running.
Think about it this way, I have a dictionary opened right now in a new tab because my English is extremely weak. I am basically trying to find ways to write English sentences properly using dictionary. Without English dictionary, I won't be able to write, understand, read and such English properly due to my innate weaknesses and deficiencies. Same with God. I need God because I have many short-comings, weaknesses, deficiencies, human frailties among other imperfection and fatal flaws. I am basically trying to find ways to minimize, overcome and/or make up for all these inherent human frailties, short-comings, weaknesses, deficiencies through God [as God is devoid of all such and other imperfections]. Without God and His Perfection and His Power, i won't be able to have, be and/or do things without making mistakes due to my innate weaknesses and deficiencies.
I hope I made this post easy to understand because my English shucks. If someone wants question me and/or elaborate more, I'd be happy to do so
If that is true, why do people say things like "God needed another angel in heaven" or "God willing"?It's an appeal to something bigger than themselves. Based on my experience and what I see, a god actually makes you feel like you're more in control of events and circumstances rather than accepting that these things essentially control us.
If anyone holds their breath long enough (and don't do it as it can cause you harn), you will See God and Understand perhaps what God is. Then maybe you will be afraid and grovel like I do.
I don’t need a God to survive or have a meaningful life, however I feel like I’m genetically predisposed to believe in God, so I believe in spite of not having a need to for survival/meaningful purposes.
The Norse, the Greeks, and the Romans (among others) had warring gods.Imagine a world with warring gods.
The specifics of my belief are most probably inherited cultural stories, however the God gene is a thing.Instead of "genetically predisposed" it's more likely that your beliefs stem from childhood indoctrination.
How does God tell you how to correct your weaknesses?
If you hold your breath long enough you may begin hallucinating. Some people mistakenly think the hallucinations are God.
If you sit in a sweat lodge and get overheated you may begin hallucinating. Some people mistakenly think the hallucinations are God.
If you ingest certain drugs you may begin hallucinating. Some people mistakenly think the hallucinations are God.
I've had hallucinations. I'm rational enough to know there is no need to mistake them for anything else, and certainly no reason to grovel in fear.

Because they know they have to say it that way because having a concept of God simply isn't going to really change actual reality so the theology has to accommodate that.If that is true, why do people say things like "God needed another angel in heaven" or "God willing"?
Doesn't that just make God synonymous with "Nature, The Universe, Chance, Luck, Chaos, How Things Are, Necessity, Serendipity, What Occurred, The Reality, What Happened, The News, The Situation At Hand, Occurrence" Ocassion, Instance, Event, Life" and whatever else? Or does the term "God" exclusively refer to a cartoonish humanoid in the clouds?Because they know they have to say it that way because having a concept of God simply isn't going to really change actual reality so the theology has to accommodate that.
In order to save face, its simply projected onto the avatar of god which still preserves the illusion of having control.
Then you end up with sayings like, "God works in mysterious ways", "God willing", like you mentioned.
You're actually right.Doesn't that just make God synonymous with "Nature, The Universe, Chance, Luck, Chaos, How Things Are, Necessity, Serendipity, What Occurred, The Reality, What Happened, The News, The Situation At Hand, Occurrence" Ocassion, Instance, Event, Life" and whatever else?
