Why do I need religion?

-I need a sense of commmunity, of welcomeness, of acceptence
-I need the redeeming qualities of my Saviour Jesus Christ
-I just do, so what's so wrong with that?

As long as you are happy and doing what you wanted to do without any harsh feelings or reservations, I say go for it. I always say we are here to enjoy ourselves and not serve anyone.....Serve your self....

1- To get to know our Creator, and to love Him as He loves us

2- To do good on earth during the years we're here, and to make this world a better place

3- To purify our souls and gain virtues which will bring us closer to Him

How do you know that it loves you?
There are non believers that made a difference in peoples lives, as society define as positive effects, doesn't that make this world a better place? Why do people need to believe the same things to get along? Just respect other peoples belief with or without religion and humanity would prevail.
Why do we need to purify our soul if you feel you are not guilty of anything? Isn't the guilt feeling suggested by religion in the first place?

Hi again.

I would say true religion is the best and most effective way of teaching large masses of people both what is ethical and desireable, and what our purpose is / how we should live.

From what I've seen, no man-made system has reached as many people, or been notably more successful.

Peace,

Bruce

Why do we dress? why do we go out? why do we the things we do every day. We do them to find hapiness, hapiness of some kind. intelectual, or spiritual, or physical. but hapiness.

the problem is that we do not keep hapiness for ourselves and we believe that everyone should think as we do in order to find that hapiness we found.

religion is not the problem. Just answer something: could you be a religious person without anyone knowing it?...could you believe in what you believe without the unstopping necessity of grow your ego by believing you have found the answers?

why don't we just try to find answers for ourselves, why don't we just do things because we LOVE to do them?

so why don't we seek our own happiness, if it is our ultimate goal in our daily life?

religions do not let us be free, because we have always to do something for SOMEONE. we pray for GOD and the saints, we pray for the soul of people. we pray because we don't want our parents to be upset don't we?
some people pray because the LOVE to do this, and when they do this, they don't have to tell anyone that they prayed, they just do, they don't try to make other people to do it because you must do it when you feel that you want to.

SO THE PROBLEM IS NOT RELIGIONS, IS THE NECESSITY OF HAVING TO PROOF THAT WE'VE FOUND THE ANSWERS TO OTHERS, AND THEN WE STOP FINDING ANSWERS FOR OURSELVES.

The truth is The Answer is not to be found. Unfortunately, this is very frightening to many and they must pretend they have the answer.

Nevertheless, I see nothing wrong with endlessly searching for the answer. It's the purpose of humanity.
