why does a religion have to be ancient for people to follow it?

what good is a starting your own religion if nobody follows it?

maybe it's like starting a business. you need money to get it going.

If only you follow it, and it helps you, that is enough.

Probably most of the newer religions are fools gold, but some of them are real gold so don't assume that all of the newer religions are bad just because they are new. And trust yourself to make the judgement of what is right for you and what isn't. You are the only one who can make that judgement.
