Why does Confusion and ignorance and depression exist ?

I don't think it has anything to do with god.

These things exist because we are human and humans exhibit these traits for various reasons, stemming from our environments and our genetics.
Interesting but that makes humans sound so fragile.

Well yea. Me as well. The difference is not fighting it and living with it as a natural aspect of living instead of thinking it shouldn't be there.

It takes practice but once you become more acquainted and adjusted its easier to handle when it flares up again.
How do I become more acquainted and adjusted

By running toward those feelings and not fighting it as if it shouldn't be there.

Observe it as it runs the course and get to know it better and allow it to go away on its own accord and let it go like the weather does by not dwelling on the experience afterwards.

Your used to thunderstorms right? This is no different.

Yes but they can make us stronger as well.

They are part of being human, and part of being human is also having the ability to seek help and learn about ourselves.

There are parts of the community that specialise in this type of thing and are willing to help. And just quietly, I think you can get more help from these people then god. (NB that's just my opinion)

You mean like how the weather is cold and then hot the next day or how the day transforms into night ?

These the don't benefit me and probably everyone else In any way whatsoever so why do they exist ? What is God's reasoning here ?
From my perspective, I think being disconnected from God is the cause of confusion, ignorance, depression, and other issues because I believe human beings were created to be in relationship with their Creator. When that is missing, things are go wrong and we don’t function optimally.

I find the words/promises of Jesus to be liberating …

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36

What about if I believed and trusted in Jesus but still felt those feelings.

I think it might be necessary or important to have some trusted biblical counseling or a faithful friend to talk with, to see if you can find out what things trigger or cause those feelings that you struggle with. I don’t necessarily think trusting Jesus is a one time thing that fixes everything in our lives immediately, rather it’s an ongoing process of depending on Him, His love, and promises each day, each moment.

Evolutionary psychology has some possible answers. We know pain is an adaptive defense mechanism. Maybe depression is a dysfunctional extreme or dysregulated adaptation.

Never give up! Maybe it would be a good idea to put this poster somewhere you could see it often:

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
But I don't like them because they make me feel terrible.
OMG How old are you? Part of being mature is accepting that life isn't always wonderful. And honestly,, it just sounds so whiny for you to complain about your hurt feelings, when there are those in this world without enough food, or sleeping on the street, picking their food out of the garbage, dealing with chronic pain, enslaved by human traffickers, etc. etc. etc. If the worst thing you have to deal with is confusion, ignorance and depression, you are sooooooooooooooo lucky.

In my experience, these (and suffering in general) exist because of you, or more accurately, what you perceive to be you...your ego. That which desires...that it attached to an idea of what you deserve. That which lacks gratitude for what one is, what one has, and the world around them, and always desires something better. That which holds onto the idea that the next person has it better than you, and that you want that.

These things are merely a reaction to the world around you. And whether you realize it or not, you have complete control of how you react to the world around you. You can create a habit of seeing the negative aspects of everything, which is a path to depression, or you can create a habit of seeing the positive aspects of you and the world around you...of gratitude, which leads to joy. Which of these will you be?

As I see it, these have nothing to do with any deity.

When you wake up in the morning, before you even get out of bed, smile, be grateful for being alive, and make a short mental list of what you are thankful for. See if this doesn't change the stage you've built for your day.

Um...OUCH!

Is this some sort of exercise in tough love or something? Suck it up, buttercup?

I don't see how diminishing another's suffering helps them.

Also, if you bothered to care enough to look, their age is in their profile. Sorry we cannot all be as mature as you.
