Why doesn't the Bible say what it means?

Do you have the perfect assurance that when you die that you will definitely end up in the very presence of Almighty God who is infinitely Holy.
I most sincerely hope not.

I want absolutely nothing to do with the god painted by you and various other theists.

You are not alone. The majority of Jews in Jesus' day hated Him and Jesus said that since unbelivers hated Him, they will hate you. (You meaning in todays terms born again Christians).
I am truly impressed with the level of expertise you display in your mental gymnastics.

It seems like everyone has to interpret the Bible to meet his or her own ideas. Why not just believe what it says? Some examples. In Matthew chapter 12 Jesus says the only sign that He really is the son of God will be that He will be 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb. Everyone has some excuse why He was only there 72 hours. It was a Greek idiom. It meant any part of 3 days and nights. Etc. Why not just believe what it says and stop making excuses. In Matthew chapter 19 Jesus says if you love Him you will keep the commandments. He goes on to show that He is talking about the 10 commandments. Do not kill. Do not steal, etc. But people have to make up reasons why the commandments do not apply to people today. They were only for the Jews. Jesus "nailed them to the cross." If Jesus said to obey them why not believe Him instead of making excuses why you don't have to. In Jeremiah chapter 10 people are warned not to follow heathen ways. Then it says that heathens cut a tree from the forest and decorate it with silver and gold. But of course that does not mean we should not have "Christmas trees" even though it sounds like that is exactly what it is saying. So on these and many other points why is it so difficult to believe what the Bible says instead of making excuses why it does not mean what it says. Of course if you don't believe in the Bible at all that is one thing but if you claim to believe in it why do have to say it does not mean what it says?

People are often confused about what the bible Says or means due to the bible being confused about what is says or means. For example, Did Jesus actually say "in 3 days" or "After 3 Days" he would rise again? The bible gives two different statements depending on the gospel you reference as Seen in the example below. One thing is very clear. Jesus would have actually been in the Tomb for 3 days and 3 nights if he was crucified on a Wednesday preparation day as seen in the bottom time line example.

In Short, the bible has inspired Jewish confusion as well as Christian confusion since the words were first put into paper form. Real word of God, comes via the spirit of truth. One can only receive real word of God by keeping Gods commandments to experience true repentance. Only then can one be born again, to be one with Jesus, who is also one with God!

3 days/3 nights/72 hours. The story is not about time, but about being in a "pickle", "hot water," a "dilemma," "up the creek without a paddle." In other words it is a Story to be enjoyed for entertainment.
