Then I guess all these racist videos don't show the common usage of "go back to where you came from."
If you hear that, expect the person to be ignorant and racist. As a white person myself, I understand that there are people in my race that aren't very bright and/or are racists. I live in the south, the lower class people in the area are more likely to be racist. They're easy to spot too.
They're the ones with the Confederate Flag (D) on their beat up trucks.
Of course people who do 'odd' jobs might see displacement. But that's the free market, they should work harder and/or compete with lower wages.
"go back to where you came from" is automatically a dog whistle and has high chances of being spoken from a racist person.
Some of us can put 2&2 together.
As a white person myself, it's obvious people that use that language harbor racist thoughts/tendencies.
So you admit your family has displaced hard working Americans who wanted those jobs? Coming here spreading diseases, raping and getting a free check?
You're not following. Being white myself, I'm used to hearing dog whistles and racist statements often. If people pay attention to words and talking points, the talking point of 'go back to your country' will almost always be coming from a racist person.Uh, if YOU hear that, YOU expect. Kinda like what
we expect from a bigot. You may want to like,
nuance that a bit.
In Hong Kong, there is a lot of resentment over
"mainlanders" and they get a lot of "go back"
from the HKers.
We are all Han Chinese.
Can you speak fluent German? Most of my people are German and have been there quite a bit over the years and visited other places in Europe. I never felt like a foreigner in Germany (or any place else for that matter), it was a strange deep seated contentment like I was truly home, that deep sigh when you know things are right with the cosmos. I would have no problem with it as home is where you lay your head.
So, have you been to Africa or would you want to go to Africa? Why or why not?
Euro Americans are displaced for sure, but the principal reason is not new immigrants, but because the capitalist system incentivizes the capitalist to purchase labour-power from the immigrants so they can pay less. Issue can be solved by getting rid of capitalism or mitigated through Keynesian management.
This is more about the specific statement itself than the context, but this is a perfectly valid statement for someone who is complaining about a country they are not native to (historically, racially, ethnically, etc).

Just look at what this divisive Klan Klown Krony has done to this country, it's unconscionable, he's steppin' on all the necks:

If I was chinese and heard this statement for the first time, I probably wouldn't think much of it.
What do you think of Mongolians?
An analysis of the labourforce and unemployment in America and it's relation to immigration is impossible without considering capitalism.
Unless you think you can analyze a capitalist economy without thinking at all about capitalism.
In this case capitalism is the problem. There's nothing wrong with capitalism in general, when it reaches a certain level capitalism turns to corruption and greed. My gosh, not everything is about CAPITALISM!!!
Or RACE!!!!!

Big Agriculture is the problem. That's the whole reasoning for coming to America. Capitalism is the reason republicans in congress will not stem the flow of illegal workers.
You can deny it all you want and claim what Hannity told you..."they're coming to America for freebies and to turn into democratic voters!.
One makes sense, the other doesn't.
I grew up in the housing projects of a midsize city
I was a minority of one
Oh like I am a Hannity fan.
Sorry, I should have said radical RW media fan. You sound like you watch Hannity in the way you word things and certain chosen words. I assumed Hannity because he's the Tea Party Darling.Oh like I am a Hannity fan.
I will bet not one in a hundred of the
immigrants works in agriculture.
Both sides say the other does not want to
stem the flow of informal immigrants.
Honestly, people in America!!

You're wrong on immigrants working on Big Farms. Ever driven by one?
I'm not into 'both sides" and whataboutism. False equivalence.
You don't understand what capitalism is then. To a capitalist, everything is profit driven. Shareholders, etc. Hiring millions of illegals allows these capitalists to a higher ROI. If given the option, capitalists would pay people $1 per hour. Thankfully, in America, we have regulations and safety laws to protect middle class workers from these capitalist corporations.
Republicans don't like those regulations and want to minimize/eliminate the fed minimum wage.
Democrats want these crooked corporations to pay taxes, not be allowed to hire illegal workers, not be allowed their government freebies in the billions.
