Why Don't the Vedas Mention Rama or Krishna?

If Zakir has done any crime, he should be made answerable to the Law of the Land. There are no two opinion on it.
We did not mention Zakir Naik, you brought him in. He is in hiding, he is an absconder from law of the land. He is a criminal in two countries.

We've tried that in the past, but he has a way of drawing out rebuttals from somebody, generally on compulsive reaction, I presume. I'm all for another attempt, and pray I won't be the first victim of the troll trap.

I cam very close to responding on that Brahman thread, I'll admit. But others had got there first!

Honestly, moderator action might not be amiss.

But Muhammad is predicted in the Veda as per "Dr. Zakir Naik discovering Muhammad in hindu scriptures", and Dr. Zakir Naik is a Muslim scholar of secular India.
Right?
Regards

If you're basing your opinions on the words of a violent, intolerant and corrupt person like Naik, I don't think we should afford them any respect.

Of course, I have long since ceased to think you have respect for anyone else's opinions anyway.

And anyway, why do you think Muhammad should have been predicated in the Vedas? Why do you try and fold all world spirituality into one narrative, with one figure? God comes to us in many ways.

It was mentioned by a Hindu website I came across it as I Googled after reading a post from sayak83 earlier in this thread:
www.newindian.activeboard.com/t48630783/dr-zakir-naik-discovering-muhammad-in-hindu-scriptures/
The site has quoted it from Veda. I go by the reasons and arguments, not after the persons.
Veda is thousands years old revealed scripture and Muhammad died over a thousand years ago. Muhammad did not write Veda.We must respect Veda, and if a prophecy is given in Veda, one must ponder over it. What is wrong with this approach? One should be fair with Veda.
There is no compulsion to believe Veda. One should just go by reasons and the arguments.
Regards

The Vedas aren't about prophecy really. What I think you should really try to understand is that the Vedas are not like a 'Qur'an for Hindus'.

Read the stuff on the link you posted, as well.

Veda is thousands years old revealed scripture ..
Vedas are not revealed literature. They were written by Aryans, among them my forebears, Upamanyav and many of his clansmen. Actually, nearly the whole of Book 7 is credited to them, the Vasishthas. To say Vedas or any other book is revealed by a God to someone is fiction, falsehood and charlatanry. Only fools will believe that. Hindus have neither prophecy nor prophets. Sure, we did have thinkers and great philosophies.

That is an Atheistic view. Dharmic people say that Veda were revealed scriptures. There have been later additions to Veda, but one could always thrash them out. But that is a different subject. Please

I have mentioned that "Hindus" or "Hinduism" is a Post Vedic product, not mentioned in Veda even in passing. Please

NIA says Zakir Naik's 'NGO' has Rs 100 crore-worth real estate

NEW DELHI: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Thursday said that controversial preacher Zakir Naik's Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) has investments of as much as Rs 100 crore in real estate business. The agency also said that Naik's 78 bank accounts are under the scanner.

"We have sought certain documents including income tax returns and others. Besides this, 78 bank accounts in different banks of the country, are also being scanned. Once examination is done, we intend to summon Zakir Naik for questioning," a source said.

Zakir Naik is a cheat. He cheated even his donors. Should a Muslim cheat in the name of Allah, his religion and prophet? Muslims ulema should bring out a fatwa against Zakir Naik.

Of course, Indigenous people worshiped the various Gods and Goddesses. Aryans were migrants to India. Vedic beliefs were different. When the Aryans merged into the main Hindu stream, they brought in changes as well - Vishnu becoming one with Rama and Krishna and Rudra becoming one with Shiva. All this is known world over.

Where have you been? I'm no atheist, and neither are many who answered you in the same way as Aupmanyav. The Vedas ARE NOT revealed scripture. This is a belief of ALL Hindus (I admit there may be a few odd universalist leaning Hindus who disagree, but they're not taking that belief from Hinduism)

Once again ..I implore you to leave us alone. We leave your beliefs alone.

Who brought in the changes? The Dravidians (mentioned as Dasyus* in the Veda) or the Aryans, per force. Please

"*Dasyu
Alternative Titles: dāsa, dasa-bhritaka

Dasyu, Sanskrit dāsa (“servant”), an aboriginal people in India who were encountered by the Indo-European-speaking peoples who entered northern India about 1500 bce. They were described by the Indo-Europeans as a dark-skinned, harsh-spoken people who worshipped the phallus. Some Western scholars who view the lingam (a Hindu votary object) as a phallic symbol have conjectured that it originated with the dasyu; others hold that this description of the dasyu may have referred to their sexual practices. The dasyu lived in fortified places from which they sent out armies. They may have been among the Shudras, or labourers, who served the three higher classes— Brahman (priests), Kshatriya (warriors), and Vaishya (merchants)—from whose ritual communion they were excluded.
