Why exactly is Satan bad?

1 Samuel 15:3 called for the murder of innocent children.
2 kings 2:24 god had children mauled to death.
Also, Noah's flood drowned a lot of innocent children.
Satan killed 10 of Job's kids, which God allowed as part his scheme.
Because any entertaining story needs a bad guy.

No, it's quite on topic. We're asking why Satan is bad - and conversely why god is good - when they're held to the same consistent standard. Much of what defines Satan is his position as God's nemesis, which makes God fair game.
Sure, I doubt many folks would go watch a movie where everyone simply got along.

Also, we know that Native Americans weren't actually one dimensional villains in real life, and in fact weren't villains at all.
Satan is bad because God created him that way. God is Satan. Why are you avoiding the topic?
... but much less than God, according to the story.
Almost as if the people who invented God and Satan were creating metaphors for real life.
What's the difference as you see it?

I story where everyone got along would certainly be unbelievable. It would have killed the religion right there.

He disbelieved in the only way to know God and disconnected from God and made an idol of himself instead. He sees the order of the universe and it's God as an evil Jinn or misguided Jinn and has deceived himself and others that he is a hero. Self-pride grew into envy, grew into deception, and has caused humanity and Jinn problems.
It can be even be potentially said, the initial arrogance on Angels came from him, and if it weren't for him, perhaps even creating humans would not be a thing.
He was an unexpected yet known possible anomaly. Perhaps no animals, no humans, no material realm, instead just all of us as Angels worshiping God sincerely would be the universe if it weren't for that fool.
We are in back up of back up plans of God (layers deep of back up plans). The initial plans of God (the higher you go to initial plans) are always better.
He tells himself he is here to free us, it gives him meaning, but deep inside, he just wants us to go hell with him. But no one can live with knowledge of that evil, so he is like all other evil creatures "alas they are the mischief makes, but they do not perceive".

In my theology Satan was part of an outbreak of rebellion against the rule and existence of the Universal Father. High administrators in the celestial world launched a terrible rebellion that swept up many previously loyal beings. That rebellion corrupted our world as well. It's an issue that is under mitigation. Sin is deliberate disloyalty to deity.
