So you want to know why people don't follow the directives of the 4th commandment and not work on Saturday? Why there are Christians working on Saturday at places such as McDonald's, gas stations, radio stations, grocery stores, and so on? Does the need for one extra day of pay outweigh God's directive? Or should Christians be willing to forsake that day's pay, and what it may buy them, in order to be in good graces with God? It comes down to which is more important...obeying God and staying in his grace, or having enough money to pay that electric bill that is so high from all the AC you've been using to avoid the heat? That sort of thing?

I make a lot more money not working on Sunday.

I've tried it both ways and I always end up losing if I work Sunday..

I told them here at work, I don't care, put a gun to my head, I'm not working on Sunday...

I will never work another Sunday again...

I got in a bad motorcycle accident two years ago after agreeing to work 14 days straight without a break...

My boss tried to do the same thing again after taking a year to recover from that accident and lost over a years worth of pay....

I flat out told him there is no way I would ever do that again and I knew if I did it would be worse for me than before..

He finally quit and I don't have to put up with him buggin' me about it anymore....

I also will not withhold my tithes from him, which also caused me to go into debt...

I caught up on my tithes and refuse to work on Sunday and have plenty of money coming in ...

Friends why the confusion on Moses Ceremonial Laws (some 600 or more) - which Moses gave to the people, and were nailed to the cross(ex. being that Christ was the ultimate sacrifice,therefore no need of sacrificial system any more etc.) and Gods 10 Commandment Law -which were written in stone with Gods own hand. At Sinai God codified his law for all men not just the Israelites. Through an investigation of the Old Testament you will see that Gods chosen people suffered almost exclusively because of Sabbath breaking and Idolatry. Furthermore the Israelites were to introduce The Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and not keep it to themselves.

If we use the logic that the 10 Commandment Law did not exist before Sinai- Then that would mean- No one on earth knew right from wrong until the 10 commandments were given? So I ask you: Did Cain know it was wrong to kill Abel? yes or no

The fault with the old covenant was with the people, not with God or His law.

A person's entire nature is changed, so he finds doing God's will a pleasure. Notice that the new covenant is based on the same law, but it is written in a different place (the heart) and based on better promises (God's).

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law

I think that quotation alone gives a very different impression than the entire paragraph presented together. Consider what is written immediately after you chose to end your quote (emphasis mine):

8But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. 9Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.

In fact, I think all of Romans 7 is a strong prohibition against thinking in terms of "sin" and "commandments".

Hmm. It may not be harmony with your own interpretation, but I think that the implication is pretty clear when Paul says that Christ's death releases believers from the bonds of the Law just as an individual's death releases themselves and their spouse from the bonds of marriage.

How do you interpret the chapter?

Also, given Matthew 12, where Jesus, along with declaring that "the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath", provides examples of when greater good can justify breaking the strict word of the commandment regarding the Sabbath, why do you think it's unreasonable to say that the requirements of the believers have changed? That chapter gives several circumstances that would seem to me to go against your interpretation of the commandment - what do you make of them?

The Bible(OLD & NEW testaments)interprets itself on all subjects, but for the purposes of this discussion, lets talk about how it pertains to Worship(love). The Bible tells us that, it matters to God how we Worship(love) Him, the Bible also tells us how to study and interpret the Bible.

Keeping the Sabbath is a part of how we Worship(love) or express our love for God, and the Bible is clear from Genesis to Revelation on how we are to Worship God, and what God accepts as Worship.

Friends the question of Worship or why God is worthy of Worship is a part of the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan and has it's origins in Heaven.

Here is what Isaiah has to say about Lucifer and him wanting to be Worshiped.

Now starting in Genesis we see Worship come into play from the very beginning of the human race. Adam and Eve had fallen, they are out of the garden of eden; according to the Bible, the first two sons of Adam, where tested in their obedience and loyalty to God through Worship.

1And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
2And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

In my reading of the New Testament, especially the Gospels, I think there's a running theme that says not to value the letter of the law over its spirit. I don't see the chapter from Romans as any sort of contradiction of the main message of the New Testament.

Satan is the reason we are even having a discussion about the Sabbath- he is a deceiver. What other reason could there be? For if Christians- true followers of Christ would follow His example, we would all obey Gods word and keep the Sabbath- everyone. The Bible is simple enough for every man to understand yet there is confusion. There are over 2500 recognized religions in North America alone.
How is then that the only commandment God tells us to Remember -(not thou shalt keep) and written by God himself is the only one we forget? Revelation says Satan deceives the whole world....

Satan is the reason we are even having a discussion about the Sabbath- he is a deceiver.

Some of you are waiting on the masses of people or world church leaders to accept and start to keep the Sabbath, its not going to happen. Let us keep in mind that the learned church leaders of Christs day, did not accept or believe Him either. The Apostle Paul says, "Let every man be persuaded in his own mind," don't forget that Satan can use ANY combination of Truth and Lies. God can only use the Truth. Let the scriptures guide you, ask God to send the Holy Spirit to teach you what is truth, humble yourself, ask God for the ability to discern truth from lies, He won't let you down.

Satan is getting ready for his master deception! Will we be ready?

Excellent point! How do you know if you being decieved?

Sorry, d.n., but I have no reason to believe that you aren't the one being deceived by Satan. In fact, if I were Satan, I'd convince people that a book I had assembled was full of the "one and and only Truth" so they'd hate, fear and persecute each other over its contents and "proper" interpretation and sit back and let the people do the rest of my work. And if I was in a particularly cantankerous mood, I'd make several such books, each with a different "one and only Truth," and give them to different peoples.

Jesus himself broke the sabbeth and Many other old testement laws. ( see eating corn without washing his hands, not stoning the women caught in adultry).
