Why Hell?

blackout

Violet.
Why did people invent the concept of Hell?

eh, why not?

Take off them da*n rose collored shades Sunstone.
And STOP havin' so much fun!
It's just not acceptable.

If everyone else can't have as much fun as you
SOMEONE will have to pay.

Can you feel the heat?

Why did people invent the concept of Hell?

Because poor people kept waiting for rich sinners to get punished in this life for their wicked avarice, but it rarely seemed to happen. So they evolved the concept of "hell" to assure themselves that those people who had all the good things in this life will be in a world of poo in the next one.

I think they used it to scare people into believing. Either that or it is that perverse human nature to want you enemies to be tormented.
I'm with you on that.

I see many fundamentalists wave the hell card time and time again for those that do not meet "their" standard of christianity.

In other words they work hard not to go too hell, they sacrifice, put their lives into their religion and would feel cheated if someone had done less than themselves and went to heaven with them.
So they have to hold onto the justice system and the version that the church and their leaders have given them to keep them in the flock.

I'm talking hard line christians here, not all christians.. BTW

Nobody's going to like this but that's ok because I'm bolder from behind a computer screen. People did not create hell. God created hell. Why did God create hell is the better question. And what is hell? From what I've read hell is the place without God. But I can't understand this because God is omnipresent. So after thinking... alot...and talking to people of every faith that I could find here is the conclusion that I could find. Hell is the place of separation from God but since that is not possible, hell is nonexistence. Hell is not dwelling in the eternal bliss of the divine presence. Why would God deny some of us his presence? Because we're evil. I'm done
